First holiday with toddler - help!

We are looking to go away for a week either in June or September this year, ideally somewhere close to a beach and with something to explore outside of the immediate resort. It will be our first time we take our 2 year old on a plane so we don't want to do long haul and are looking for at least half board to minimise issues with food! We also don't have a lot of money to spare but want to ensure that we are going with someone reputable to take that stress away! We are not that fussed where we go and am absolutely confused by browsing the travel agent websites! Any suggestions would be amazing!

Chill. Relax and look forward to your time with your toddler.
Don't let the toddlers age put your off if something long haul becomes available that fits your requirements.
Suggestion #1 is buy your toddler its own seat on the plane - it'll cost you a few £ but is worth every 1p
Suggestion #2 is to take your own car seat with you if you're booking a seat for your toddler. Remember your toddlers "cuddlies" and its happy days all round.
From my own travels with the Kittens when they were toddlers, it went like this.
If Kittens were happy, then Mrs Cat is happy.
If Mrs Cat is happy, then I'm allowed to be happy.
Oddly enough, as the years have gone by, things haven't changed much !0 -
Have you considered Butlins?
It is ideal for toddlers, and all of them are close to a beach. No flying involved.
Alternatively, I found Majorca very good when my son was still in nappies.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

I was going to comment that even June or Sept might be quite hot in some Med resorts so you would be topping up the sun tan lotion a lot!
Just thought- it can be 30 degrees plus in June in Turkey!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I would suggest somewhere like Eurocamp where there are kid's play areas and swimming pool. In early to mid June and Sept these are likely to be almost empty except for pre-school kids, will keep your little one happy, and are self catering so you can go the supermarket and stock up on food you know and like to avoid issues or eat out if that works better. We stayed at Bella Italia campsite in Italy close to Verona airport (and easily reachable by train from Venice too) and you wouldn't need a car as it is 15mins walk from the town along the lake, you can rent cots etc and it is cooler because of the breeze.
Short flight on budget airline so you can afford a seat and buggy etc, self catering option for child friendly food but lots of Italian dishes that aren't too spicy or unusual for toddlers, Italians love kids, lots of boat trips to other places on the lake that are easily walkable, lots of on site activities for lazy days."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." We had 2 holidays in Majorca when the kids were young in Puerto Pollensa and was really good.
We went self catering in a place called Las Velas but I think they may have had an arrangement with a nearby hotel for B&B or half board- that said there are loads of good restaurants to choose from in the resort itself.0 -
I don't know the name of the hotel but I've heard very good reports of Menorca. People with similar aged children have stayed at a hotel on the island with a water parked attached and had a great time.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

We went to Menorca last year with a 2 year old and had a great time. Stayed at Royal Son Bou Family Club and everything was made with kids in mind. My son's still talking about it.0

We went to a Eurocamps site last year - La Point St Gilles.
It is absolutely amazing for toddlers in fact it is classed as a toddler friendly site. The ferry is also amazing for toddlers as they can just run around and there was a soft play and cinema. We went to Jamaica this year for 2 weeks on a 9 hour flight and it was a great holiday but the flight was just horrendous.
Highly recommend Eurocamps. That site is only a 90 min drive once in France!skint_chick wrote: »I would suggest somewhere like Eurocamp where there are kid's play areas and swimming pool.
