    Evening All

Happy Birthdays Gers and Lainey, hope you've had lovely days.

LW - I nearly fell out of bed last night staying at my Aunts, first time I have slept in a single bed for years - not very big are they?!

My weekend was eventful, I got stuck in traffic through Glasgow on Friday night (Speky, do you do that every day?) which took an hour and a half, the boot of the car wouldn't close properly so the rear wiper wouldn't go, then it got dark and then it rained so I wasn't a happy bunny by the time I arrived in Chester.

Yesterday was good, Uncle's 90th birthday do went well and we had a lovely meal out. Good to catch up with everyone including my DB and SIL. Left early ish and had a clear drive back up but the wind and rain was horrid - the only consolation was that the boot decided to close itself! Stopped at DDs and gave the bedroom a coat of paint and made my way home again.

The house is freezing but I have had some curry and rice left over from last night, early bed for me I think.

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Well done dumpling, MM I hope you feel better soon. Take care. XX

    Good evening,

Dumpling thank you for the thread.

Happy birthday to Lainey and Gers!

Just back from Oxford and only skimming the thread, will read with a bit more time. We had a nice time, DH got his black belt certificate, all written in Japanese except for his name, he is very happy and I am very proud of him.

Very tired after two days of walking all over the place, some in the rain, but I am not in Oxford every day so wanted to make the best of it. It is not my favourite city, even if I recognise that it has real beauty. The high street unfortunately is very much "Ghost town Britain" with the usual shops that you find in all towns and cities, wherever you go.

I bought myself a nice top in Marks, needed to change into it in the shop, to meet DH in the restaurant, as I was wearing a big thick jumper (I would have died of overheat!). But I needed a blouse that goes with my black trousers anyway, so I am pleased, and I like it very much.

Going to get some dinner on, probably veg and tofu stir fry as we have eaten out and need something light tonight to balance the rich food.

    Have a good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Congrats Mr Caterina. Cambridge is a much nicer city than Oxford.

Busy day doing nothing important today, hubby has been uprating the security on the house and i had some bad news earlier but all is ok other than that. Prodigal came for a feed this afternoon. He looks ok but he's not one for talking much. He is still hobbling around on crutches.

    Have a good night,

    and sleep well all,
