Morning, (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.
Happy birthday Lainey and Gers, hope you both have a lovely day.
Feeling a little more human this morning. Managed to get our Sunday breakfast, melon for a change.
Ended up in the spare bed last night OH was fidgeting for England....... I woke him at more or less our usual to time.
No plans for the day, I cancelled our anniversary lunch on Friday, I really am not fit to go even though I feel a bit better this morning.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread dumpling.
Happy birthday to Gers & Lainey.
It's dry today and supposed to stay that way so I have washing done & on the line.
I've had a toasted stale hot X bun for breakfast and a cuppa, my L&M has a cuppa and will have cooked breakfast later.
Our knickerless neighbour has complained to the HA about the fence but as (a) we own our house, (b) the fence is 5mtrs from her boundary, (c) a temporary repair has been effected and (d) it's being repaired on Tuesday by the time they send us a standard letter it will all be done and dusted. She must drive the HA up the wall, she complains none stop about one thing after another and most of them are made up.
Anyway, rant over, have a great day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Happy Birthday LAINEY and GERS
:bdaycake::bdaycake:
Hope you both have a wonderful day.
Well I've been up most of the night. Whatever I'm ailing with, virus or some such has kept my head throbbing, my throat sore, a temperature and a horrible, persistent cough
I slept fitfully on and off after going to bed after 3am and woke soaked in sweat (sorry if tmi) so my bedding is now in the WM.
I also have a very stiff neck, not sure if it's through sleeping in a funny position or tensing when I cough, but it's not nice so painkillers are on the cards when I've finished this post.
No plans for today..I feel like I am wasting my days off work but know I need to just rest, so here I am for the duration.
Hope you all have a lovely day and take care'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Morning all,
Has been raining here but seems to have stopped now OH has put a load of washing in early this morning but he always puts it on the longest wash and holds everything else up  once that one is finished I have the bedding to go in, there are two loads from yesterday which need drying too, going to be like a laundry in here !!
Chicken for dinner today will do some salad and coleslaw with it, really don't fancy a big meal.
Beds can be re-made later on and the hoover run over up stairs, little Evie will need her walk (she is too manic without a walk) and I need to do an online shop, this afternoon will be a film or book in front of the fire.
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Lainey and Gers have a fab day xxx
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning all, DUMPLING thank you for the thread, birthday wishes to the birthday girls. Those that are poorly try and rest and give your body chance to heal, this year's bugs are vicious
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary, we decided to visit a NT property to walk in the grounds with dog and enjoy the masses of snow drops. Cloudy, blustery and some light rail squalls, but had a lovely time. The huge walled garden was looking so neat and tidy and a visit in a couple of weeks would be good, there will be masses of bulbs. Lunch was a sandwich, tea and cake in the cafe sat by a lovely log fire.
Have a long list to plough through today:(, breadmaker and washer on, pot of soup next and then a late breakfast will be enjoyed. Supper will be an easy one, so hopefully will get lots done.
Have a good day all:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Morning everyone, thanks to dumpling for starting the thread and hugs to those that need or want one.
Happy Birthday to to Lainey and Gers:bdaycake:
Weather is still lousy so no plans to venture further than the bin today. Need to do some housework and change my bed but that's about it.
Will see if I can find the energy to have a further fight with Virgin Media re my broken phone line though might save that one until tomorrow.
Sleeping appallingly at the moment so can only find my guag in small chunks but will potter through the day. Something involving chicken thighs and chorizio later for dinner probably involving roast veg since I'll have the oven on
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
:bdaycake::bdaycake:One each for Gers & Lainey, hope you both have a lovely day xx
We had a great meal out,Greek, with our friends last night,we had a drink here before and after ,and their son gave us a lift there and then picked them up later so it was as as economical as we could make it.
I went to visit my cousin who had the clot on her lung, she is slowly on the mend and is having weekly visits to the anti -coagulant clinic to keep an eye on her.
Today we may go and visit my DB and family to see their new border collie puppy,he's been asking us to go.I've put a beef joint in the sc,so not too much effort needed for tea,we did a quick shop yesterday after the DGC had gone.
DH has just fitted an eco wall heater in the downstairs cloakroom, its freezing in there normally,so hope it improves it.Now he is cooking bacon so I need to go :DHope you all have a good weekend xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon everyone - thanks so much for all the lovely good wishes which are coming for both Lainey and myself!
I'm home, the wind and the rain made the drive very 'interesting' which means slow and steady. There's so much water on our roads, makes me glad I've got those new tyres.
I got to my potato event an hour too soon so wandered off down the street to the lovely Italian cafe that's been there since 1928, it was so great to sit down to a cooked breakfast and proper Italian coffee. The place soon filled up with Sunday folk out for an easy day. The potato place was packed when it opened so everyone was milling around but I soon found my five chosen spuds (only bought one tuber of each @ 20p each) and skedaddled.
My living room is beautifully clean and freshly painted. It's such a treat to not have to look at bare plasterboard in two places and the water leak stain on the ceiling - all gone. The decorator has gone a brilliant job, now all I have to do it put things back on the walls and bring in the fireside stuff. Maybe tomorrow! She's also put the furniture in different places, well, swapped the chair and one sofa round, so I'll have to see if I like that way.
There will be a tiny wee glass of something on the fermented side taken tonight though not much. I'm at 'an age' where I enjoy the taste rather than the sensation... flipping heck!:D:D0 -
Hoppy Birdday Lainey and Gers. I';m not putting a cake icon, you two have had plenty of those already, and you don't want to put on weight!
Mr LW gave me a scare last night; about 03:00 I felt the duvet gradually moving off me, investigated, and discovered him right on the edge of the bed, about to fall onto the floor! I managed to hook my arm round him and get him awake enough to move back to a safe distance from the edge - he says he has no recollection of any of this.
He's fallen out of bed a few times of late, so I'm glad I was able to save him another bruising. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Thanks LW - and you're right, too much cake already. My teeth are aching with so much sugar.
This 'edge of the bed' thing is interesting as I find myself right on the edge most nights, it's not as if I can't move across anymore (ex-OH) but somehow I find it reassuring! And it's even odder as I now can't sleep in a single bed as I worry in case I fall out. I can recall so well, when younger, being in my student nurse halls and needing to feel the wall next to me in bed and not space. Never fallen out yet though I'm sure there will come the day. Good that you managed to pull Mr LW away from the edge.
Just got a call to do a Glasgow run tomorrow for the patient transport volunteers, can't refuse as they don't ask me often. So, a cork in the wine bottle and anticipation of it for tomorrow night.0
