    Evening all,

Tired but achieved a lot at work today. SFD today but not yesterday. Think I'm up to 6 now.

I have enjoyed the sunset on evening walks the last two days :)

Looking forward to the weekend :)

Nearly had a NSD, but ran out of paint for the doors.
Would have been more than enough if it was really 'One Coat' - how do they get away with that lie??? Anyway, had to buy another paint pot, but as I have done two coats and it really needs one more (this should do it, honestly) that will be another job ticked off the list. Really thought I had another NSD in the bag.

Today will not be an NSD as I will buy snacky tat for the kids for the weekend and then I can get on with drilling and painting and ruining my clothes.

Booked car in for Monday, for works it needed from the service so I should lose £400 but not have to worry about car things again until December. That counts as wellbeing.

Got below £6 a day mortgage interest !! £5.99 instead.

    Grateful for
Birdsong when I get up at 6am

I didn't have to wear a coat yesterday

I do not have anything nice planned to look forward to, so I am grateful I only have one more coat of paint on the doors (8 of them). I mean, how often do you paint the stupid doors anyway? The job is nearly over!! yay!!!

I have the money in my account to pay for the car remedial works and won't have to use the cc and we will be safe.

    Only Connect on tv tonight.

    Day Ten
    Use it or lose it
Crosswords, sudoku and other puzzles help keep your brain active and agile. If you find a type of puzzle you like, include it in your routine - daily, weekly, monthly - whatever works for you. Especially if your job, whatever it's challenges, does not give you this stimulation (those with children/ working with them can have a free pass for answering all those questions and trying to keep one step ahead).

I find graded puzzles useful. In the period immediately after my brothe died, I was getting a monthly puzzle book graded 1 - 9 and rarely getting beyond grade 3. Later on (about 18 months to 2 years later, but there isn't a time table on grief, it comes and goes) I went back and completed all the 4-9 ones I had struggled with before.

I have broken myself of the puzzle habit (there wasn't much in my budget that was an optional spend) but check in occasionally to check on my clarity of thought (depression makes you go round in circles, unable to see the way out). It can be calming but also gives me a measure of where I am up to. Countdown, the Chase and Only Connect are also useful (thanks for the reminder, I caught up a couple of weeks ago but missed since).

    21 Day Wellbeing Challenge

Get rid of five things you never use.

If you ever want to feel materially wealthy, go through an Arg*s catalogue or similar, counting all the things you would never use/ need. In my case this is all the jewellery, nearly all the gadgets (don't even know what some of them do) usually about 90% of the book, by volume.

If you are happy with what you have, you have everything you need.

Went back downstairs yesterday very late on (might have been post midnight so technically today). Did all the washing up, cleaned the sink and worktop, emptied the fridge, pulled out and cleaned all the shelves and fittings, cleaned the inside.

So grateful for that sudden unexpected burst of energy and for beloved having done the top of the stove.

  • Good morning and happy Friday everyone,

As expected, yesterday was a NSD as shall today. Thinking forward to next weeks meal plan and I think I'll opt for a more cost effective dinner instead of variance. Maybe bulk prepare soup for lunch and omelettes for dinner? I'll think about it.

    Hello and Happy Friday.

Asda pick up order tonight and the hopefully two SFDs over the weekend. Will also pop into B&Q tonight as I need a piece of wood to fit over the window in the guest bedroom to fix a curtain pole to (forgot the walls are concrete and can't be bothered to borrow hammer drill and special bit, still took ages to drill the living room).

Tidied the freezer yesterday and the fridge. To avoid the bacon rolls and fry ups for lunch over the weekend I used up all the salad stuff I could find and made up three salad tubs (just without the dressing so they stay crunchy). Weight myself yesterday. Thought I felt a bit bloated and sluggish recently but hadn't realised I actually gained nearly half a stone (and it's not muscle as I haven't been training much :o). So definitely need to reduce my red meat intake.

Got a great product testing survey which basically supplied me with 1-2 months worth of liquid washing detergent :T
