Hi all
i purchased £500 worth of US dollars today from Thompson superstore, ferry road, Cardiff
i was checking the receipt on my way out and noticed there was a charge of £3.95 for a buyback guarantee scheme.
I did not ask for this, not was i offered it and i certainly wasn't advised as to what to do if i had any left over currency.
i went straight back to the desk to question this charge and i was told its automatic.
I said i didn't ask for it or want it and she refunded my money .
i told them i wasnt at all happy about it and had they not heard of the PPI scandal and how many people have they charged this amount to that didnt express any interest in having it.
there was no manager available although i left my complaint with the person who said they were in charge that day.
I find this disgraceful that a huge company like this charges customers a fee for a products they did not ask for or that was even suggested to have
if they had done this above board then surely they would have explained the scheme to me.
at £4 per transaction its a nice little earner for them.
Do they get commission oin these sales perhaps.
either way a very sneaky and underhand way of getting even more money out of customers.
please check your receipts.
