  • We didn't go out last night as I felt too rough, so had one of the Charlie Bigham meals (this green chicken curry) from the weekly shop - it was absolutely lovely. And only about £6 versus take out which would have been £21.50 (probably more as B said he didn't feel like our usual pizza so would've been chinese which is much more ££) or going out for dinner which may have been £40-50. And we had some profiteroles which were on offer and watched last bit of series 5 of Homeland - was a lovely night and very MSE!

Does mean we have to get an extra meal for the week next week but that's ok.

Today B is repairing the fence - a panel had blown down ages ago and was broken so he got the stuff the other day. Was £277 with all the gubbins (though for me my half came out of house account which s rapidly depleting - need to sell more stuff!) but needed doing and as he is doing it, it is cheaper than getting someone in. He's also in process of re-varnishing the glass house in the garden (left by last owners and is glass with a thin wooden frame which looked like it hadn't been cared for - idea is we will grow own veggies in there when back from Sicily as then we are not away again really until next year, apart from the odd weekend). Then we are going to see his niece for a bit who is 2 and who's party I'm missing tomorrow.

Tonight B wants to go out for dinner to place we were supposed to go last night but I suspect I'll just want a take out as feeling pretty awful.

Got to pay the girl who's leaving do it is for transport today as she's booked it - £28.65.

I will mostly be sat on sofa feeling sorry for self (though my try and do some token cleaning!)

Sat we ended up going to B's mum's mid afternoon for an impromptu BBQ. Didn't cost us anything as we took some rolls from freezer and we had stashed burgers in B's mum's freezer a while back. Was lovely to see his niece and nephew and a good time was had by all.

Yesterday went out for girl's leaving do. Was actually a really lovely day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lunch ended up being £40. I wasn't drinking so didn't pay towards booze, shared a starter, had own main, dessert and tea and 2 big pints of lime and soda. B and I then spent £32 on cr*p takeaway when I got home so not v happy with that.

Today we had to go to A&E. I am pregnant (8 weeks, didn't announce on here) and was bleeding this morning. Has stopped now, and they said my cervix is closed (good sign) and there wasn't much blood, plus everything else seemed normal but they obviously can't rule out this may be start of miscarriage. They've taken bloods and have to have bloods taken again in 48 hours plus a scan in next few days. Hoping and praying all is ok. Had a very stressful incident at work (where I am effectively fee earning again) on Thurs and had bleeding friday and today so slightly concerned that may have kicked it off. Am going to speak to boss tomorrow to say I just can't be exposed to that - nothing is worth this baby's health. Also haven't touched a drop of alcohol since found out was pregnant (even though was hard yesterday with sunshine and everyone drinking) and intend to keep it that way.

So, sat in garden for a while before. B got me some strawberries (£2.20/2) and have made a cake (raspberry and assam tea loaf). Just letting it cool before icing it. Trying to rest but had to do something. B and I were going to go for a walk this pm but think we might just chill in garden now. Dinner is from stores (plus cake obv!)

Wow!! Congratulations - I had been wondering but didn't like to ask x
You've done the right thing to get checked out, and all you can now do is wait, it's not an uncommon thing in early pregnancy so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.. Try to relax, but know the work stuff is hard to ignore... Take care x

Thank you Kittychick - its just SO scary the whole thing. Bad enough is the sickness, nausea, headaches, exhaustion etc in 1st trimester, then worrying something is wrong all the time, at any small bleed or loss of symptoms! For me, who is a constant worrier anyway it's tough!!!!
  • Yeah I get that, I had a couple of difficult pregnancies and it's really worrying..im a worrier too so I know there's no point telling you not to xx

How's today going for you? x
  • they confirmed yesterday that I've had a missed miscarriage. Got to have tablets to induce the miscarriage though not sure when yet. Devastated doesn't even cut it. Seems very unfair.
  • Coastal Chick I am so sorry to hear that. You must be devastated. There's nothing anyone can say to make it better but please take care of you. X

Please be very kind to yourself at this horrible time, take things slowly and hug each other often x
  • Thanks guys. Been told procedure will be started at 230 tomorrow then all day Saturday so at least it will be over quickly.

Have cancelled trip to see friend this weekend and B has cancelled his trip to watch the cricket with his mates. Am gutted he's had to do that and I did tell him not to, but he won't leave me alone.

We are going to try again though - we cannot let this define us or beat us.

We are also potentially going to just tie the knot when we are in London on 21st Sept (also happens to be my birthday). Otherwise, we will never do it as there is so much uncertainty re baby and that is our priority. We just want to be married to each other.
