Can My Boss Come To My Private Home?

  • This sounds like a typically ill thought out cost saving 'enhancement' by a company head office - who, using big brother tactics are hell bent on making this a success without listening to justified concerns from the front line staff who are supposed to bow down and manage it in their own time.

One alernative solution could be (if they are interested in considering other options) - I recently had a new windscreen fitted to my car by a well known national company - and whilst chatting to the installer he mentioned that all the company's regional offices had now been closed - and each fitter was provided with a padlock key to a centrally located old shipping container where each local fitters next day parts were delivered to overnight - for pick up the next morning. The installer said this system was fairly new and seemed to work ok - albeit all the regional office staff had unfortunately lost their jobs.

It sounds as though this type of system could maybe work for your company? It may be worth putting it to them.

Quiet enjoyment applies to the right of the tenant to live without undue interference from the landlord. It has nothing to do with noise or 3rd parties.

    More's the damned pity!

The other issue is how far they might try to push this. At moment it is once a fortnight. What is stop them making it once a week or more? Or asking you to store more equipment than two boxes.

Plus deliveries in the middle of the night unpaid? Taking the p**s. Alas more and more British employers seem to be taking advantage like this.
