Tax credit joint claim causing me stress!!!!😡

If he lived with someone for 4 years that's his address. Why can't he give that? It should be on council tax at least...

If it was with being looked into for that reason why wouldn't they tell me this on the phone every time I ask for an update. And why would they look into it just because we have got back together, I've made a joint claim because that's what I'm supposed to do so I don't see how everything else is relevant. I suspect they only asked for his details like address and that because they didn't have his correct Date of birth so probably couldn't find him but now they have emailed the correct one I'm hoping things will be ok. They will have his previous address on the system anyway because he's received letters from HMRC previously due to a different reason in the past.

They would look into getting back together because if you have lived apart for four years but had a child 8 months ago, (conceived 9 months before that) they would want to check if you were actually seperated or engineering it to look like you were seperated.
They would be unlikely to tell you they are looking into this until they have enough evidence to accuse you (if that is what they are doing) or realise that they dont have enough grounds to prove that you've done anything wrong.
You would be suprised the amount of people who 'lived apart' for years on end but had numerous children together whilst apart.
I really hope it gets sorted for you soon. Unfortunately like all things they are quick to stop your payments but not so rushed in starting your new claim.

They can't accuse me of nothing. I can prove I lived alone and paid my own bills. I will send them bills and bank statements to prove I lived alone and paid everything from my account. Don't see how they are allowed to lie telling me they got my date of births wrong when reality they have something else going on. Everyone has actually made me worry now when I've done nothing. Just because you get pregnant by someone doesn't mean your in a full blown relationship with each other

Did you actually get divorced (you refer to him as partner in this thread but husband in another)

You must see that having an ex who lived with a friend (and in your words he has nothing 'official' about him living there) having another baby with him and then getting back together looks slightly suspect.

Getting pregnant doesn't mean a relationship no.

Getting pregnant to your husband who you already have four kids with, does suggest a relationship, yes...

I have nothing to hide. Only I know the complications of my life and things that are going on that leave me no choice but to get back with him but I won't get into that. It's not out of choice.

So your basically saying that my tax credits have been stopped and it's because they are accusing me of something and they are making up a different reason everytime I call.

I have absolutely no clue. All I said was it may raise questions particularly as you implied he can't prove his living arrangements for the past four years of your split

I really didn't mean to upset, scare, or accuse you of anything. However I will say it is hard to prove a negative.
In another post you said oh had been living with a girlfriend, surely if this is the case everything would have been registered at her address whilst he was living there.
If you have done everything above board then you have nothing to worry about. Again I hope everything works out.
