If you do SORN it then do it before the 27th.

After declaring SORN online you can't tax online for 5 days. System just says no if you try.

Oops. Just read this today, SORN'd it today.

I'll try to tax it post MOT on the 4th. If that doesnt work i'll wait to the fifth.

TBH. I dont need to drive it currently so if its a day or two extra before it bottoms out then no worries.

    Why take the risk?

Yes, i've concluded that. And just SORN'd it.

Though as i've just found out from a poster on here, theres a set amount of days after a SORN before you can re-tax it, and that was the kind of thing i was trying to avoid by not SORNing it for those few days.

I dont need to drive the car currently but it would have been nice to get it all done and dusted on the MOT day without it rolling in to another week.

I taxed mine about a week late without a problem. A friend has taxed hers almost two weeks late. I suspect the thinking is that the payment will cover the start of the month.

Yes, i've done it in the past and had no issues, as as you say you're back taxing to the start of the month anyway.

Wasnt sure these days if there was "any" leeway though.

Have SORN'd it now anyway - one less thing to worry about i guess.... :D
