Hi. I have channel 4 HD. I have on demand. If I try to download something on Channel 4 HD it won't let me, (I can do it in SD) I spoke to someone at sky who says I have to upgrade. I don't get why? If i have both things separately why can't I download channel 4 HD? I can download other HD channels

It's the same on Channel 5 - no idea why! However, on the BT TV box I recently had installed, I can "go back" on the guide for up to 7 days, and get Channel 5 HD, pleases the wife as she can catch up on Neighbours (groan) in HD instead of SD.0

Complain to Channel 4. http://www.channel4.com/4viewers/
IF it is a $ky-C4 agreement to limit this I'd be surprised (as C5 would likely be similarly hobbled).
Presumably BBC channel equivalents are all HD ?0 -
I don't know the answer, but do you have pay Sky for HD (£10 ish per month)?
It may be that the 'terrestrial' HD channels are free to view (no card needed) but that the on demand stuff is part of the HD pack (so Sky 1 HD, instead of just SD, for example).0 -
Quite a bit of On Demand material, particularly for ITV & CH4, is made available only in standard definition by the broadcaster. Not sure why it might tell you to "upgrade", however, unless it's because you don't pay for HD as part of a subscription.0
