    Why not ask for the faults to be done before you buy it?
    That would have been a request I put to the garage had I gone ahead with it, but on doing some research etc there are things that put me off from buying from that particular garage so will not be going to see it.

    Found another more local with better history, recently serviced and new timing chain for the same price so will be looking at that at the weekend. More reputable garage as well so no reason not to.

    Not familiar with that engine but I would wonder why it's had a new timing chain. I thought the idea of chains over belts is that they don't need changing?

    Sorry, my error, the advert does say belt and not chain.
