Funny they did not mention the fish slice, single bar of chocolate, and £5 shop voucher wins.

Proud to say forget the 40k win I have won the fish slice, the £5 iceland voucher and I'll raise you 3 bars of choc which turned up this morning!

  • it's lovely to see some new people posting comps.

it's a shame there is such a negative view towards new compers and sharing by some.

sadly aware some here hate sharing.

I don't think it's a matter of not wanting to share. This forum is predicated on us sharing with each other.
New compers are a welcome addition (and according to your join date, you are a new comper too!) but this thread to me is a light-hearted attempt to prepare for the periodic onslaught of new compers who don't take the time to get to know how the forum works or what the best way to interact is. That certainly can be irritating at times.
Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

An eye for an eye only leads to more blindness.

This thread was to point Mse's error in not pointing out that it isn't the gold mine that the article portrays it as.

People contribute in all manner of ways to the forum, I don't constantly post comps as my life is hectic enough but I help in other ways.

    Swings n roundabouts.

It's absolutely not about people on here hating sharing, nor is it a totally negative view towards new compers! We were all new to it once. The problem is that every time comping gets mentioned in the weekly newsletter as an "easy way to earn extra cash" there are hordes of new compers who sign up thinking they are going to win loads. Without exception, there will then be posts from some of them saying stuff like "I've been comping for a month and have entered 100 competitions, when will I win something" or words to that effect. It's infuriating that the newsletter portrays it as something guaranteed, when in fact not only are you not guaranteed to win cash or big ticket items, you're actually not even guaranteed to win a fishslice!!
  • it's about the newsletter basically making it look easy and making it seem like a pretty much guaranteed return. Does not happen like that, makes people come in here with high expectations then complain when it doesn't happen.
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

The only way I guarantee a return is running Swagbucks at the same time, when I had a proper go at it I was getting £55 a month in Amazon Vouchers even having eased off I still get £30 to £35 a month.

(I was disproportionately pleased to win a box of Maltesers last week - paid at the checkout in Tesco and won the brand match bingo - I think the savings have to match a figure they have already picked - checkout operator got a box as well which I thought was a nice touch)
  • that's what i ment!

however I see this kind of behaviour from some people who claim to be pro compers! saw a pro comper moaning recently they hadn't won "much" this month!

some have the entitlement even though they know it isn't easy or guaranteed!

apart from posting comps what other ways can I help the comping guys here? I'd love to get involved!

As others have said, it's not that they're new, it's the constant posts after they've entered 3 comps and not won an amazing win they seem to think they were guaranteed to win!

We see it so often on here, and always after it's mentioned in the newsletter.

    It should be worded better.

ETA: I tell people about this site all the time. I've sat for two hours with family members teaching them how to use it properly, sent loads of messages to people asking how I'm so "lucky" - always point them in the direction of this forum. We were all new once!
    Thanks to all posters :A
