Paid by bank transfer as per OP.

OP your only hope , and I don't know if it is really a good hope, is small claims.

As soolin says, small claims (preceded by a Letter Before Action) is your best hope of getting money back, but you need to have an address for him for that to work, so hopefully you do.

I have an address he gave... some one told me to check companies house too. Which I did
I found him sort of.... details don't quite match.. well I didn't have the quote with the company name that is on companies house... I have the address with his name on it...if that makes sense

I ave found out I am not the only one that he just takes money and runs...

Although, I may not get money back he should be stopped so any advice on that welcome too, if I can help stop him that would be good....

Report to police, Action Fraud and Trading Standards, but don't hold your breath! Also post his name and company name on here.

Not really. Are you saying you have a quote with his name on, not the company's? If so, then you'd sue him personally, not the company, for the return of the money.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
