switching without direct debits

Hi does anyone know if when you switch your accounts can you use an account that has not been used and does not have any DD and then set up the DD after the switch?
I've switched a lot and I'm running out of accounts
. This is my plan. I have a Nationwide Flex Direct 5% which has ended and was thinking of recommending my husband to open a Flex Direct. Then when he has completed the switch have him recommend me for a Flex Plus account. This way we could earn £400 plus benefits of the accounts.
The only bank accounts left to switch are two joint accounts which have been dormant and recently re activated but have no transactions.
Does this make sense?
Thank you

Does the incentive terms say you need at least 2 active direct debits?
And if the 'recommend a friend that recommended you' plan works let us know, 'cos we'll all be all onto it.0 -
Yes the T&C's says 2 active DD's, I just wondered if they had to be active before the switch. We have 90 days to switch the account so we could set up the DD's first in the meantime. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0

Am I missing something? I don't see where a switch comes into it if you have a Flexdirect and want to end up with a Flexplus, I thought CASS was for use when switching between banks, not within a bank.0

I don't know what CASS is? My husband would use an old account from another bank to switch to a flex direct. I would then also use an old bank account to switch to a flex plus. I would then have my flex direct to use on another banks offer of switch in the future. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -

If you have enough donor accounts can you do 'switch in' several times?0 -
