Sky TV

Options
I wish to cancel my Sky TV which can be done without penalties and then my daughter wishes to take out a new contract in her name etc. Can this be done?

When my brother (who wanted to move his Sky account with him) moved out, I rang Sky and explained the situation.

I was counted as a new customer as it wasn't me who had the Sky contract at my address.

In this case, your brother kept his account, so you needed one for yourself.

People have managed to get a new customer deal, when moving home and the original account was under a different surname and from a different bank account, so no connection to be made, but usually it is the household which is assumed to have the account so, swapping between existing members is refused.

Some people claim to have done this a number of times, but others have thought they'd succeeded only to be caught out and trapped in a full price contract for the duration.

If you cancel and let the service go off, you could well, like us, get a better deal than a new customer's. (75% off and £100 credit)
