    Update:

Car was written-off. I got £700 which I put towards a 16 plate Peugeot 208 demonstrator, 6 months old at a great saving from new OTR price.

Insurance company (Saga) was absolutely brilliant - all sorted in less than 21 days.

Insurance has almost doubled (much newer car - £68 to change over vehicle for next 6 months so not bad), offset by £20 Road Tax instead of £285, more fuel efficient car (cleaner petrol instead of diesel), no MOT to worry about til 2019 and I got £8 refund on my Green Flag breakdown.

I also took out GAP insurance so should get full value of the car back if written-off.

    Happy bunny :)
