morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) another terrible night for me. OH slept like a baby.
I woke at 3am, no more sleep after that, so am still in bed and staying here for a while at least.
Fine morning, clothes are on the line, OH in the front garden finsihing off, it looks so much better.
Pork casserole for supper tonight. I am going to cook the spuds in their skins for a change.0 -
Quick check in from me, later than usual thanks to M8 road closure.
2 pages of comments already! Hope everyone is well.
Yesterday was a NSD and I played badminton with my family as usual. Wanted an early night but I couldn't nod off. Recon I fell asleep around 11 but I was grateful.
No plans tonight although I do want to bake some low-carb cookies.
Back to work for me. Have a nice Tuesday everyone0 -
Morning all x
We now have 2 new additions to our family. 2 very noisy budgies called budget and bargain. They seem more tame than blizzard the budgie as I can put my hand in near them and they don't flap like manic. Won't be long before I hand tame them fully.
DH has been worried about his health as he has been really tired of late. After a chat with the chemist we worked it out that since we have switched to quorn 5 nights a week and as he will not eat leafy greens it's a b12 vit problem . So hopefully the tablets we got will help.
DD2 is still searching for a new job as the one she is in is bringing her depression on again.
Me I'm fine apart from the usual aches and pains. Looking forward to my girls holiday on the 1st March for a week in hopefully sunny benidorm.
Right need to sort DW and do some ironing then hopefully the 2 parcels will of been delivered and I can go for a walk to get the steps in. Might run the hoover round again but only if I feel up to it.
Dinner tonight will be a freezer dive suprise. As long as I can make 3 portions (one for DH while I am away)it's all good .
Hope LW is ok
Ahyhoo better get on.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -
Morning everyone. Another one with a bad nights sleep as was in agony with my jaw/ear. Turns out this morning I have a septic throat and a swollen tongue, so no breakfast yet.
I was trying to drink a cuppa when there was a knock at the door and standing there is a very young policeman. Apparently my elderly neighbour had called them as she said she was stuck in the bedroom! Well it turns out that the carer had got her breakfast and then left and my neighbour wasn't happy. ( she can get out because she has a stair lift). I fear she may be better off in a nursing home as this isn't the first time she's done this sort of thing.
As I feel under the weather and it is an awful ,grey damp day, I have sent DH to the butchers for the faggots but who knows what he will come back with!
Have a good Tuesday allFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Gers That is an impressive haul of technology :rotfl:
Seems to be the norm and ( I was told by ex-OH) essential
Freesat because Freeview is very limited here.
Freeview because the dish might fall off the barn again as it did in Storm Henry last winter
DVD - no idea because it's been a very long time since anyone watched one here
Network cables to watch on demand services on TV / Freesat / Freeview
I just wish there was a neater solution to remove the need for the horrendous tangle behind the TV. There's aerial cables going in and out of different machines and the Freesat cable has two bits to it.
I've now removed the pictures from the walls (gosh they were dusty!) and taken them upstairs. The room feels very unloved!
It's back to being cold again today so the woodburner will be getting fired up soon once I've stopped 'doing things' downstairs.0 -
Morning all,
Prodigal is in the blackest of moods today. He was fine yesterday till tea time then went downhill pretty fast. Ive tried talking to him but he just says he is in pain from his foot but i'm not sure. He was happy as Larry yesterday morning but what a difference today! He had these black moods when he lived at home and i learned to keep out of his way. He's got a hospital appointment this afternoon. I've given him his bus fare, i cant expect him to walk on crutches. Theres something he's not telling me. He's got an addiction.
I watched my eldest Son wean himself off Heroin 10 years ago and i know all about addiction. He went to sleep on the cold concrete floor last night but did come in and sleep on the sofa in the early hours.
He's polite, he's done nothing to make me fear for my safety but theres something he's not telling me.
Tomorrow he is going to the doctors. I'm not sure he will open up to them though. If i go with him he will just sit there and let me take over which doesnt really help the situation. I just look as though he's there because ive made him go.
Youngest daughter has just messaged me to remind me i have got my Grandson my usual Wednesday childcare slot as well as all day Thursday. As much as i love him, i could do without it now. I'm stressed enough as it is.
Hubby has messaged me to tell me he has booked 5 nights away in our van in March. I told my daughter i'd have my Grandson for an overnighter on the 12th and we go on the 13th. I dont know how thats going to work out. Still could be worse, we could be going away in the folding camper. The timing is completely wrong but hubby needs a break he says and that week fits in with work apparently so he's booked it.
Such negativity from me today but it does help to vent.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning everyone!
Ive had little kitten to the vet this morning for his 2nd injection...he was very good, just cried a little in the taxi. he came home and went straight to sleep...after his first one he slept for most of the next 2 days, so looks like it could be the same again. That's him sorted until he goes to get spayed in a few months time.
Ive made a chilli this morning and emptied the deep fat fryer...it's bin day so I could get rid of the oil straightaway. We don't use it often, but I do like 'real' chips now and again.
I have a couple of online courses to do for work, so I might get those done this afternoon. Also going to have a go at doing downstairs carpets with steam mop. DDs bedding is on the line as its dry here so I will have that to iron at some point.
Could be a good idea to actually move and start doing something?0 -

I know what you mean, I had to dive behind the TV last week to install the new router. We have freestat, the TV was rigged for freeview when we bought it, and it also has a DVD player which we hardly use built in. I hate all the cables at the back, but not much I can do about them.
I finally managed out of bed. I will have to have a Nana nap I think after lunch. DB slept ok last night and he has said he is not having a siesta this afternoon. He has been in the garden this morning.
I have just done the left over chicken from last night with chopped onion and garlic mayo for a sandwich, will aslo do a tomato one, so we will have half each. There are pears in the fruit bowl that need using up, I whilst OH has yogust I will have a chopped up pear.
Spending the day reading apart from supervising the supper and getting the clothes in off the line later.0 -
I have two dds and sil coming round after six for a bite to eat so planning on a huge cottage pie for tonight. Washing is outside but might need to rewash it. Taking out a chicken dish from the freezer to defrost and will have it with noodles or rice tomorrow.
Still feeling quite weak and wobbly so trying to pace myself but still be active if I can. I think middle dd might be staying overnight so will look forward to having breakfast with her tomorrow.
Managed to take out the recycling last night ready to be collected this morning but difficult to get round the bushes in the front and side so will ask neighbour if his person who does the garden can do things for me as well.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Morning all,its busy here today
I thought I'd slept ok but I feel really tired, though I was up earlier than usual to take Ly1a out before DGS arrived for the day.He didnt stay over last night ,his Mum wanted to spend some time with him as she was away at the weekend.
I'll have to try schmackos Tru,though I am always armed with kibble and also an apple as emergency distraction. She doesn't like hats either,or high vis jackets
,bit difficult while theyre still mending the road. Its not like she has an unknown history though, she's always been a pampered pooch since we got her at 8 weeks, had training classes & puppy socialisation.
Just doing some broccoli & stilton soup for my dinner(lunch) in the pressure cooker.DS has just come home for his so DGS is happy to see him.
Drizzling again now :(Hope you all have good days xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
