Help Please, dubai holiday Scottish airport?

The problems you are having is mainly due to the lack of scheduled airlines running between Inverness and London. You have only 1 flight a day to Heathrow with British Midland which is very full on your return dates. This connects with a BA flight to Dubai (who don't work with British Midland) or a very busy Emirates flights.

And via Gatwick you have a couple of British European flights, which are exceptionally busy. There are no useful flights from Inverness to Europe.

Of course it is possible, but expensive. Can you change dates?

More importantly, would you (they) travel to Aberdeen where you have many more options?

Thanks for all the advice so far, I knew I could rely on the lovely people on MSE to help..

My dad is working until midday on the sunday so no way they can fly from any where other than Inverness. The flights we have found have a 2hr 10 minute stopover in London heathrow before they set off for Dubai. This seems very tight (if even allowed for check in regulations?) thoughts on this appreciated, please.

I have noted the comments re lost luggage etc, i do feel however that this is an inevitable risk where-ever and when -ever you fly (I always DON'T expect to see my suitcase on the conveyor belt!!) and would cross that bridge if it ever happens.

How do I find an independant travel agent, and do they have the same back up as going through a named brand agent?

Options from Aberdeen include connections in Manchester, Paris and Gatwick.
