Aygo Pricing

Hi all, I am looking at picking up a second hand Aygo. I have seen a 2013 Mode model with 6k in miles for £5,695. Is this a good price or too expensive as I've seen other dealers ( Not local to me) selling them cheaper????

How much cheaper are they at the other dealers?
How much time and money will it cost you if bought the cheaper one?
  • £300 cheaper and a 14 plate. 60 miles away

I would not be driving 120 miles to save £300 - maybe show the dealer the other dealers advert and ask for cheeky discount, free mats or free service.
  • Just seen a 14 plate 107 active for £4,599 with 6k on the clock. Are they really that different???

Same basic vehicle, however do research into problems as they can be model specific.

Our Aygo was also much cheaper to service than the Citroen, Pug alternatives and you get a 5 year warranty.
  • Yes, all are (still?) built in the Czech Republic in the same factory and on the same assembly line.

Aygos had an issue with water ingress, though not sure if that is still relevant.

Also the older ones (pre 2009 I believe) had issues with clutches, again I suspect that is not relevant anymore.

The 998cc is a e3cyl chain driven engine, very reliable generally, though obviously it still needs servicing on a regular basis.

I would also look at Toyota IQ if 4 full seats are not a must - very nice, much more premium and similar money, though not as many around.

The only differences are some minor panelwork, especially the different-shape rear lights on the Toyota-badged version, and spec differences. Toyotas tended to be highest-spec, Citroens lowest. That came into play during the massive Toyota accelerator recall a few years back, as the drive-by-wire throttle was only on cars with flappy-paddle box or (IIRC) cruise - almost all Toyotas were recalled, a good proportion of Pugs, few Citroens.

Apart from that, no difference at all. Exact same servicing requirements for each - but different dealers may charge different prices, if you take it to a franchise dealer.

I've got a 2012 107 Active and if you lift the bonnet, the engine etc says Toyota on it. I love mine.
    :p
