Dishwasher didnt clean, looks like mould??

We put our dishwasher on last night, went to bed as normal. Emptied it this morning and everything felt greasy still? Nothing was dirty, but some of the cutlery looked as though it had rust spots on it already? And the pint glasses had what looked like watery mould marks on them?

No idea why this happened, any ideas people? We use salt and rinse aid, always have and we do an empty wash every month with a cleaner through it

Nope, I religiously put in a new tab as soon as we empty it, I'm OCD like that. DW is old though we inherited it when we moved in and kitchen was 10 years old, so it could be 12 years old by now??

Sorry to sound ignorant, but where would the filter be? I haven't cleaned any filter since we moved in (didn't even know it had one)

When we top it up with salt, the hole we fill is always already full of water, unsure if thats normal?

If you google images "dishwasher filter & your model" it should show you a picture

You could also try searching - troubleshoot (your model) dishwasher

There are lots of videos on youtube which might help

The filter is a plastic thing in the bottom, various bits may come out to clean, look into the hole when everything is out too for big bits of food.

Yes the salt hole should be full of water.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Thanks Skint, just found the user manual online and located the filter - Have directed the Mrs to the relevant area and am going to supervise with a cup of coffee :)

I had a similar problem with ours. Took ages to work out the dishwasher freshener hanging from the top basket was blocking the rotation of the spray arm.

If Mrs BB is cleaning the filter, she could also detach the spray arm and check this isn't blocked either.
