mis-led?

So we went to look at new Toyota's at our local dealer.

The salesman took us on a test drive and we are very happy with the car, but - having got home and double checked the specifications it says that the model we are going for does not offer something we were told we could have. My wife wants the privacy glass in the back and says she asked a number of times if the car we want comes with this and she was told yes.

Now because she says she asked and it does not come with it and it is something she specifically wanted and had assurances about it she says she wants to phone and cancel the order, tomorrow.

Is she being a bit hasty?

    What is the model, exactly?

Also bear in mind that they may have been referring to getting it done aftermarket rather than as a factory option.

it is a toyota Auris hybrid, we are going for the business edition which is better as the wheels are not so big and we get everything else we want but then noticed that the privacy glass is not a factory option so yes maybe they can do it but i think it needs clarifying.

Not if she really wants privacy glass. :D
Maybe you could pop back in and get this cleared up, but at the end of the day, if privacy glass is at the top of the "must have" list, then getting stuck with a car that doesn't have it is daft.

If I ended up stuck in a car without something I really wanted I would moan and gripe about it every single time I got in the car, for the entire duration of the journey, and I would never let it go.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Never feel bad about going back to a salesman and insisting that the deal offered and agreed is the deal that you expect to be delivered.

You can get windows tinted for very little money.

All a bit dramatic considering you haven't even spoken with them yet, instead basing it all on an internet page

Just remember the salesman is not your friend and the only reason he is friendly and spent a lot of time with you is because he wants your money. Not only does he want your money but he wants as much of it as he can get so that's why he doesn't immediately offer the best deal. He is hoping that people like you will fall for his sales techniques and not haggle because he is "really nice" so he gets more of your money!.
  • The dealer will probably get the windows tinted by an aftermarket company. If privacy is not a factory option, you're going to have to accept the dealer retro fit.
