I purchase a 1st Generation IPad on E bay at a good price. I realised it had restrictions being an old model. I was wondering if I can get I can update past !OS 5 to say IOS 7 to enable me to download Google and few other items. If so how do I go about updating.

Nope, IOS 5.1.1 is as high as you can go.0

I have been given a first generation IPad but have no instructions. Is it possible to download from anywhere a manual or instructions booklet.0

I've got the iPad 3 which had a short life before the iPad 4 was introduced, looks like my updates have finished as unable to download IOS 10. Love Apple but they don't help themselves.0

Yes they do. They help themselves to peoples money - the vast bulk of people will just upgrade to the "latest" machine, almost irrespective of cost.0 -
I tried doing it but it wasn't compatible.0

Don't know as I've not tried IOS10.0 -
I understood you could do more if you jail break it, it invalidates warranty but the biggest reason no to is performance.
My Mobile is too slow to be practical since the last IOS update.
I will probably dump Apple or wait for a bargain on eBay.
I would not want an iPhone7, lack of headphone socket is unacceptable and so typical of Apple. Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto.
