Buying a new car 2013 with 4 previous owners?!
Evening all,
Looking to buy a Vauxhall insignia 2013 2,0 cdti eco. Test drove it today and really nice car. have come home to do some research to find it has 4 previous owners, Would you be concerned by that because of its age / expect to get it cheaper?
Car does come with full 12 months warranty.
Any feedback greatly appreciated

You'll be the 6th owner. Would that bother you? It does seem high for such a young car. The first owner could have been the dealer as a pre registration but even so, it's difficult to discount the others. The car doesn't seem to be a specialist one so perhaps go for different one.0

Are the previous owners 'people' or companies?0

I will find that out tomorrow0 -
Check the warranty T&C's closely. If you don't have time there & then, ask for a FULL copy to take home and read at leisure. The company issuing the warranty, is not necessarily the garage, probably underwritten by a separate company and they depend upon customers not reading T&C's. If they don't let you do that, it's one mark against it.
Have you seen the mileage? Anything over 60K would be a warning. Excessively high (90K+) and I would think "Company car".I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

See if you can find out why the more recent owners sold it and how long they had it for

Andyph, it seems that Eden Vauxhall warranties are issued under the well known Network Q brand, a nationwide Vauxhall warranty scheme. I cannot find any complaints regarding this, but my advice remains the same: try to read a specimen copy of the Used car warranty.
66,000 miles for a 2013 diesel is a bit high, if it's an early 2013 that is about 28K a year. The engine should be Ok with that, providing all servicing has been carried out: check the Service Manual. There should have been Timing belt changes, check the model here:
http://www.mytimingbelt.com/Results.aspx?ModelId=274
If the servicing has all been carried out correctly, and the price is right, might be a good buy. Check prices here:

Good luck.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Five owners in three years. Sounds to me like there's a problem, and people are playing pass the parcel with it. Unless I could get some understanding of why a newish car has had so many owners, I would run a mile. As others have said, it's not a rare car, and there will surely be one around with a normal number of owners. I'd be very suspicious. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

Mileage wouldn't bother me, my current car was at 110k miles in 3 years. The owners bit definitely would bother me. Companies generally don't keep swapping owners around so it doesn't sound like a company car the whole time. One to avoid unless there is a very good reason for the owner changesRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
