no that amount of money is ample to live on thankyou, but is nearly slashed in half now my other half is on mat leave, and no we have only just recently had one child thankyou so we are quite happy bringing this little one up for now.

IF benefits were one of the reasons you had a child why didn't you look into before doing so?
    :(

Will your wife be returning to work? You may qualify next year if your wife is on SMP only.

I get DLA for mental health issues. I'd give back every penny and more to be fit and healthy.

If you think DLA, PIP or ESA is some sort of award for having mental health issues, Then you are seriously wrong. People seem to think mental health is all in the head....

Try having severe anxiety where your chest constantly feels like it's being compressed.... Eyes watering, Gasping for breath, Yawning or having the breath sucked out of you like a heart palpitation. I wouldn't want any of this for any amount of money from DWP!

Where did the Op say that benefits were one of the reasons he had a child? His family income has been halved due to his wife being on mat leave. He was simply surprised that he wasn't entitled to anything.

As for comments he made about mental health and tax credits, he made them due to wrong information he received. Doesn't mean he has a chip on his shoulder. And he mentioned nothing about DLA, PIP or ESA

Lot of assumptions being made and putting words into someone's mouth that he didn't actually say

But that's this forum for you

Yes income halved, he's on a great wage. The problem is when it's expected.

Maybe when your OH returns to work you might be entitled to more(childcare). You earn a lot more than others earn. You almost sound jealous not a great trait. You'll get child benefit. My oh earns significantly less and yes, we get child benefit, that's it.

Learn now to live within your means.

I've got less issues with someone asking if they are entitled than some of the bragging I earn 40 grand a year but still get working tax credits because I pay a load into my pension.

That's milking the system. The Op isn't

:T:T:T:T:T. You know because they tried to claim. My tolerance is low just now. They stated how much they earned one person, taking home a very good wage. Wanting more because they thought entitled.

Bogalot, sorry your quoted, that's a accident, don't know how to edit. Mental health is awful, really sorry.
