    Do you actually want to use the phone, or just get it working as a matter of principle?

    If it was as a matter of principle, would carefully in the open garden butcher the phone battery, then connect leads to the phone battery and put the connections to a regulated supply, or voltage regulator connected up to a normal duracell type batteries put into a battery holder. Not the prettiest but....

    I am planning on selling it as a working classic phone - but first I need to chreck that my files are removed from it !!

    Be careful how you phrase that because 'working' is a subjective term and the buyer usually gets to determine what it means.

    My Nokia 9000i is in A1 condition and if I can get it running - it will be classed as "WORKING"
    What is wrong with that ?
