I did ring 101 for the Police when the manager wouldn't let me out of the barrier. The person who answered was lovely but said it was a civil matter and the police could not get involved. There will be a recording of my call to the police.

My car wasn't clamped or immobilised but I was prevented from leaving by the very solid barrier that the manager refused to raise until I had paid £25.

And he was a voice on the end of a machine as he refused to come to the barrier or tell me where his office was located.

Location - The Podium car park, Bath.

Owned by O & H Properties and managed by Savills. I have left !!!!!! reviews.

When it first happened I didn't realise that a token was needed to get out (just thought the receipt was what I needed to exit barrier). When I got in contact with the company I told them that there was no token issued but they have replayed the footage and said that a token did indeed come out of the machine after I paid and I 'walked away' so tough.

I still think the £25 is a disproportionate amount to fine me when a) they will have suffered no loss as I paid and b) even if they need compensation surely it should be under £5?

    Still fuming.

It isn't a fine a private company cannot "fine" anyone!

But you seem to have been charged their standard fee for a lost token:

Nice parking confusion scam, no appeal, no pretend fine no need to join any parking association just a nice little earner!

Probably not reflective of cost, but I fear you won't get anywhere with this one apart from a bit of satisfaction from making a fuss over how totally unfair it is.

Your car was immobilised because you were prevented from leaving. Have you read the law on it yet?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Refused to let you out = against the law. POFA 2012, falls foul of 'vehicle immobilisation'

I've had a look at this and I'm guessing that they would argue that all I needed was a replacement token and I would be free to leave. What I'm less clear about is how much is reasonable to charge for a token?

    £25 seems like extortion.

The owners O & H Properties are a couple of billionaires on The Sunday Times Rich list. It isn't like they need the small amount of profit that this must generate from the confused, elderly and probably tourists.
