Morning everyone,
Thinking of you Camelot and you Redruby hope all goes well at the clinic x
Cloudy today but have been out with the girls and it's not so cold.
Have to go into town this morning to pick up my new glasses so we are treating ourselves to breakfast out, we have a couple of bags to drop off at the CS and then we pick up some fresh veg etc.
Not sure about tea tonight, have a hankering for paella but it's not exactly low carb! The butter bean and tuna bake was delicious but nearly a disaster, I had infused the milk for the white sauce and just made the roux, reached for the milk and tipped it all over the counter topQuick mop up and then made a batch of stock, added it to the roux and it thickened up nicely, added a big dollop of Greek yoghurt and poured that over the top of the bake instead. Have to say tasted very good and will probably do it that way again.
Well, all is sorted at DM's bungalow, gave it a good clean and thanked it for providing my parents with such a cosy little home, they were very happy there x
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Morning everyone
Well I have been up since silly o'clock as we were awakened with someone banging loudly!
Turns out it was our next door neighbour who had fallen and couldn't get back up. So went round ( we have a key) and put her back to bed. Bless her, she's 92 in July and has only been home for 2 nights as she broke her leg in October and spent almost 4 months in hospital. She has a lifeline but it doesn't seem to be working.
I spent most of yesterday at my dad's giving his house a' big' clean through. He can manage most things but needs help pulling furniture out etc.
Today will be a little shopping and then DH is taking me out to lunch at the local Garden centre. They do a lovely beer battered fish and chips.
Thanks to NMLC for starting us off
TA hope everything goes well for Mr TA today.
Have a good day everyone, hope to catch up later.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

Good morning chums,
Slight mist here this morning but lovely nonetheless. Wish I wasn't working and I'd go a big walk with the dogs.
Yesterday evening went to plan. Came home and made some delish low-carb chicken tenders with a side of greens. Leftovers for lunch today. I then made almonds covered in dark chocolate with some sea salt on top to help satisfy my sweet tooth when i get the craving. Was in bed for 9 reading and nodded off around 10 I reckon.
No plans tonight - yet. I could do with a NSD so hopefully nothing crops up.
nmlc - hope you have a good day today
Gers - safe travels and enjoy your stay
Jackie - good luck today. I know the dentist can be a daunting place to go. And on Oreos. I was in Asda yesterday (dont usually shop there) and they've got like 8 different flavours and it was 50p a pack. I bought a packet for the guys in work.0 -

Morning (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.
Better night last night, slept in, so OH brought my brekkie through, will get up shortly.
Message from DD1 baby is moving into position ready for his journey into the world, so need to concentrate on getting the quiltin finished, names put on it and binding done. Unusually for our family, first baby is a boy and I doubt very much there will be a brother or sister due to DGD's condition, this one is a miracle, she was told she would need IVF to conceive.
It's a bit of a grey morning, but mild. I turned the heating down yesterday, it got a bit warm.0 -
Good morning,
Thank you for the thread Nmlc.
Hugs to all who need them and well wishes to the poorlies.
Yesterday I was so busy, but in a good way. Finally (again LOL ) we are reconciled with our wayward DD, who had written us a letter asking forgiveness etc. So she came to stay and we had a good talk about consequences of lying, on a practical sense, not with recrimination. How lying brings unnecessary confusion and misunderstandings. I think she has taken it fully onboard. You can never know with her. But I have hope.
Off to Pilates in a minute. Then brunch (huevos rancheros) with DD then we drive her back home. Tonight DS is here, brother and sister haven't reconciled but I hope one day it will happen.
Have a good day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Camelot, I hope things go as well asthey can.
Ta, fingers crossed for MR TA's results.
I'm sitting here with my brunch smoothie before going to DS' to check in with the cat. She was supposed to be coming here but disappeared under the bed because she hates travelling. She's impossible to get out from under there so I've got to go down to feed and water her.
I've finished the cushion cover front but I'm not happy with it so I don't think I'll turn it into a cushion, so back to the drawing board.0 -
Afternoon.
My journey down was so slow until Balloch, mostly big bits of kit with escort vans. There were lots of boats heading up north which was lovely to see.
I also did lots of stops, coffee at local garage, bank in Inveraray, fellow MSE'r (very briefly), car dealer for service appointment, almost stopped for the police camera just after the car dealer, M&S for a ready meal, car wash place, recycling centre for large amount of cardboard and finally got to DM's place. Not my normal kind of trip.
Mum's busy making a cake for me, I can't tell her I've not been eating sugar so I'll nibble on a piece as I'm sure my system will enjoy the surge!0 -
Hi
Can any of you lovely ladies tell me what to do with 'round steak'?
I ordered some with my Tesco shop...expecting what was in the picture...2 small round steaks I intended to slice thinly for a stir fry.
Instead I got this big lump of meat 4 times bigger than what I ordered. Wondering if it will be ok in the slow cooker as a casserole? Or should I slice it into thin slices?
I did get the difference in price refunded so that's ok.0
