Improved broadband options in rural/semi-rural areas

Options
Perhaps not news, but for some reason there seems to have been an explosion in broadband choice for those living in semi/rural locations (where traditionally only BT services would be available).
While the broadband speeds may still be a problem its worth checking the availability of these company's SEPARATELY from the comparison sites which, for my post code at least, are not giving all the options.
New ones I've seen (probably more) are :-
John Lewis Broadband (uses Plusnet service)
SSE (bizarre but they are really cheap but request an 18month contract)
EE (actually don't know what their pricing's like but presumably competitive if you have their mobile too.)

The MSE page for broadband is here

About time Martin announced these deals on TV (perhaps he already has)
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Depends if there's LLU presence in your exchange. There tends not to be in rural locations, limiting the suppliers one can utilise.

Samknows is not up to date (or is just plain wrong), I've just checked my details.

Thanks. I'm aware that we will have access to fibre by 2019.

That explains it. 99% sure were not an LLU exchange (assuming that basically means only BT kit is in the exchange); must be a reliable website that says who's services are available at an exchange.
EDIT: this lot seem to capture all the new ones (EE, John Lewis, SSE). http://www.broadbandexposed.co.uk
Lots of text and map before the offers are a bit annoying though.

Sorry that site is less accurate than samknows. It has Virgin and LLU providers available for me.

Nearest Virgin to my village is 6 miles away. There is absolutely no LLU in my 1000 subscriber exchange and nobody in thief right mind would install it. The only reason we get fibre is due to BBUK limited to 30 meg however the site reckons I can get 76 meg.
