They will ask you questions based on the activities of daily living. So for instance they will ask you how you prepare and cook a meal. They will want to know whether you can wash yourself unaided, whether you can dress yourself unaided. They will ask you whether you have any problems with eating and drinking with regards to your health problem, They will ask you how often you go out of your house and where you go, they will want to know how far you can walk and whether you need aids. Lots of questions like this! They want to know how your illness/disability impacts on every day life.0

If you have stated you have issues with mobility they will ask you about this too. They will ask you how far you can walk, how long it takes you, how often you go out. They will also ask you to do some physical tasks, like bend down, lift your arms up etc (if you have issues with this type of thing that is) if you can't do something because it causes you pain and discomfort tell them. Don't just answer those questions with a yes or no. Explain everything in as much detail as possible!0

Hi
Its over now the dreading waiting starts.

My hospital were surprised i had this as said i should get the higher awards on both but i have bever been lucky unfortunately in anything in life.
Can you get the report of what she has written or is that confidential0 -

I received the usual rubbish in the post about what will happen etc. Also it came with a map on how to get to the centre.
Having no one to go with me or take me I faithfully followed the instructions to the letter.
A one hour bus ride, change buses for another twenty minute journey then last but not least a 800 metre walk from where the bus dropped me off to the centre.
One of the first questions that I was asked by the assessor was 'how have you got here today?'
I told her as per the map you sent me.
The result was that I was assessed as able to use public transport AND was able to walk with no difficulty.
That was the end of my ESA claim which was convenient in a way as my 65th birthday was only a couple of weeks away.
Just shows that if you comply with what they suggest you do, you end up being penalised for doing it!0 -
You can request the report a day or two after your assessment and they usually send it out quite quickly. The DWP Case Manager usually goes along with the points suggested by the assessor but they can change them both up and down.0

You need to phone DWP on Monday and ask them to send a copy of the assessor's report to you. The number on my paperwork is 0345 850 3322. They're not open at the weekend.0
