Monarch price went up at payment page.

Hello.
Last night i booked a return flight to Malaga for my dad.
The price was £86 return and then 1 hold bag each way which came to £127.20.
Went to payment page and the price went up £5.60 so i checked everything was correct and no extra boxes ticked.
I then removed the bags and went to payment page and the price was £127.20. I added just 1 bag and noted the price and then again on payment page the price goes up.
In the end i booked the flight for the £132.80.
I then cleared my cookies and history and used IE11 and firefox browsers and put in the same details and i got the same result at payment page as above. When you prebook hold bags it says you get a discount on the price but i think the price is not deducted when you get to the payment page as i tried a few combo's and the only price that stayed the same was if you did not add any bags.
Has anybody else had this problem with Monarch or is it just me?

I've got 3 flights booked so far this year with Monarch and never had a problem with any of them. I didn't with last years either.
I've just done a dummy booking with a £86 flight. I think the end figure it throws up is the correct figure.
On the screen where you select bags try adding the individual figures together, ie fare, taxes and bags for both flights. The total on that page doesn't tally. It seems to deduct the bag discount twice. Once in the breakdown, and then again in the total. On the next page where you select seats it does tally, because it adds the extra discount shown in error back on again. It then carries that total through to the payment screen.0 -
So i am sort of correct in Monarch having different prices showing in the total box.On the screen where you select bags try adding the individual figures together, ie fare, taxes and bags for both flights. I have taken some screenshots of the issues but i cant seem to add them to the thread without using a URL.0 -

It does seem a bit odd. I use Monarch a fair bit and have always regarded their online booking as one of the easiest to use and most transparent with regard to costs.
The only niggle I have had is the pricing of their all inclusive Air Packs where it can be cheaper to book everything included separately.0 -

I just compare the prices before booking.0 -

So do I. That's how I noticed the discrepancies in the pricing.
However, a Monarch novice might assume that the Air Packs were always the best value option. They are certainly presented that way.0 -

Sometimes the components are discounted but the Air Pack isn't0 -
I had another look last night and on the page about selecting flights it gives you flight only, essentials and another package and under the essentials and other package it mentions 10% bags discount but not under flight only option.
When you select flight only and the go to add bags it says 10% discount and i see £5.20 discount added but on the next page and the payment page the discount is not added so maybe the discount does not work on flight only pack but only for the other 2 package options.
If i could post screenshots on here i would but it will only let me do URL option.0
