So I took advantage of this offer they have at the moment. First !!!! up being my wages seem to have gone AWOL after the switch, missing this past 2 days which is being looked into. But it gets better.

I set up my payee's a few days back and transferred my money from my old bank first direct. All went through fine. Now tomorrow my rent is due to one of the payee's I had set up. Made the payment and got told payment is being reviewed. I called the number and after 45 mins got through to the correct department and got asked 101 questions about my credit file, I apparently did not pass and got told to go into branch, great!!! Here is the kicker they didn't give a rats about, I'm in Northern Ireland, and we have no TSB branches in Northern Ireland. My local branch is Liverpool apparently. I told them this and they did not care, I have to phone back tomorrow as the department was closing.

How do I get out of this predicament? Stuff the £125 as soon as I get my rent money back they can stick their damn account.

It's rare but not unheard of for switches to go wrong. You have cause for complaint, so complain.

I'd expect quite a bit more than £125 in compensation.

All losses covered when you switch using the switching service are covered by the switching service guarantee
your new bank has to make good any losses

I would call them and say you want to claim under the switching guarantee for all your losses so far and into the future

if they do not comply then the banking Ombudsman is the best place

in answer to your specific question I think TSB have a pretty good customer service record generally

doesn't help you of course but as I said they are normally pretty good

You have switched your old account to TSB
    using the switching service?

Your salary used to be paid into FD and the payees you mentioned used to be paid from FD?

If so, I don't understand why you had to set them up again on TSB - all details would have gone over with the switch?

    http://www.tsb.co.uk/current-accounts/switching-bank-account/

Your switch is backed by the Current Account Switch Guarantee
Choose to switch to us when you apply, or at any time after
You can choose the date you want your account to switch
It’s easy and free to switch and we’ll have it done in just 7 days
We will move all your outgoing payments, like direct debits or standing orders and incoming payments, like your salary or pension for you
Our dedicated team will manage the switch for you so it's hassle free
Keep up to date - we'll send you text alerts so you know how the switch is going
9/10 customers who have used the Current Account Switching Service to switch to TSB would recommend us

If your switch has gone wrong because of TSB mismanagement, invoke the switch guarantee and make a formal complaint in writing?

No its not common practice with TSB.

Best to calm down and be measured and polite.

You knew they didn't have any branches in NI right!?

You failed the security questions on the phone so they have to ask you to go in to a branch. That's their procedure as up to then they couldn't verify your identity.

If TSB have messed up ask for compensation but you do come across as a bit hot headed. They will do their best for you if you give them a chance.

P.S. you were lucky to be asked 101 questions about your credit file, most people only get three chances to get it right before their account is suspended!

Got it sorted. Phoned back and got asked 3 more questions and passed. My wages have gone back to my old account as they decided to cancel the switch for some reason. My payment has now also gone through

I have found TSB CS good, but I usually only use banks/building societies that have a branch not to far away (5 miles at most). The exception is Tesco, but they can help via in-store customer service desks and are handy in that counter banking hours are the full customer service desk times.
