Contesting end of lease charges

I had a lease car collected at the beginning of January as part of the voluntary termination process.
The collection agent came and inspected the car, which at the time was 40 months old and had 36k miles on the clock.
He stated that the only damage he would have to list on his worksheet was for corrosion to three of the four diamond cut alloy wheels.
He stated that you could tell that the wheels had never been kerbed and that the damage would have been a result of a stone chip, and then water getting underneath to cause a spiderweb effect.
He also stated that should the lease company contact me for the £165 (£55 per wheel) then I should contest it as it wasn't due to kerbing.

I'm kicking myself for not getting them sorted under the corrosion guarantee before it ran out, but at the same point the dealership never told me that I could do this when it was in for any of it's three services or re-calls.

How do I go about contesting this charge?, the letter states that if payment is not received within 10 days then the fee will be passed to the financial solutions and litigation team.
