Compensation for 2 flights in same journey

Can I claim compensation for missing my connecting flight due to the first one being delayed even though I've claimed for the delayed flight, they where booked as part of the same journey with one airline ?

Your compensation is based on the delayed arrival at your final destination. If the first flight was delayed under 3 hours but final destination was over, then compensation due
There is no separate claim for a flight that was not delayed where you did not get to the gate on time
