Firstly, very best wishes for Carlislelass; I hope the news is as good as it can possibly be.camelot1001 wrote: »We have been asked to wear purple for the funeral on Friday, it's a colour I never wear as it makes my face look green! Still, I'll go after work to see if I can get something. My DOH has gone over to DM's bungalow to let in the people who are taking away the bulk of her furniture, I opted out of going as each time I do it seems to get harder and harder
have to go tomorrow to do the final clean and then will hand the keys back on Monday. There was no way that we could keep the majority of the contents but given that the majority of it came from our family home it feels like I am giving away my childhood. Sorry, am very tired and weepy this morning.
As for physical stuff; can you look upon it as The Give-Away; you don't have a need for it, so it's moving along to someone who can make good use of it.
If you've not slept well, you'll be feeling the effects - cut yourself some slack, declutter a few tears if it helps. x
Folks, thanks for the reassurance on the ECG; my appt is on Monday afternoon. I absolutely detest anyone other than Mr LW touching me (even having my blood pressure checked yesterday made me feel nauseous), but it's good to know it won't actually be painful.
I don't have a scooby why the Dr has ordered this though; I was so wound up, I didn't think to ask her - I think that's what's really the worrying part. Luckily I've dealt with the nurse they've assigned me for it before, and she knows my phobia about physical contact, so hopefully she'll make it as easy as possible; and Mr LW will be with me the whole time.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all x
Been so busy here not had time to post .
But just had to share my bargain of the day. Went searching for some magazine files for the paperwork and after much searching found some in my local b@m problem was there was no price on shelf or item. So asked a very nice lady who works there and she had no idea either. She asked the manager who was obviously in a very good mood who said she didn't have time to find them on the computer so I could have the lot for 1.99
Well I snapped her up on the offer and the kind lady who inquired for me found a 1.99 price tag of something else. Got to till and the said price tag was reduced to 10p. So 12 magazine files for 10p.
Was so tempted to by a lotto ticket after that.
Anyhoo better get back on to the grind. Will try and pop back later and add daily bits.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -
Great bargain LWW, well done!
My day has been good. The truculent seven turned out not too bad, I did 1-1 sessions with each so that helped a lot. The rest all seemed to have cracked on with the work.
I did a little bit of shopping on the way home, not much and it only came to £7 odd. Went to collect the papers again, no-one there again so I sent a semi-snotty email which resulted in a lovely email back from someone else in the organisation and then an even lovelier telephone conversation which moved the whole problem right up to the finishing line! Result :j
I've written on the cable labels, they can be laser printed but not inkjet printed so I've used a CD pen to write on them. The reusable cable ties have arrived so that once the jungle behind the TV is cleared the cables will be labelled and tied up neatly.
I think the glass three tier stand will have to go, it shows the dust too much and is very heavy. Trouble is that a wooden one will make the room too brown and a white one will stand out too much, never happy. It needs thinking about.
Now I've got two sets of results to verify which will take ages, the CDs are sitting 'glaring' at me from the coffee table, however I see the task as a Monday type job. :rotfl:
The woodburner is on, I'm using wood which has been stored too long and is very dry so I'm up and down like a pair of knickers adding more onto the fire. Dry or not it's blooming hot.
The mist is rolling in, it's damp without actually raining and the birds are feasting on the lump of lard I put out.0 -

I have an actifry and waited till a special offer to buy it. It makes great low fat chips and I just cooked some low fat sausages in it.
I am about to look for some special recipes to try as it is a good quick way to cook without lugging heavy pots around just now. I am defrosting some chicken so might make something with peppers, onions etc tomorrow.
DDs have been insisting I keep hydrated so I have a two litre bottle of water beside me. I managed to hang out some washing outside and will take it in a few items at a time so I don't get breathless.
LW
Could you phone the nurse and ask for advice or get DH to do it?
