Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Off into town we need fresh fruit and I want to pick up another bag of spuds if Lidl have any, plus some greens for the weekend. They keep really well in the coal shed on the rungs of the steps.
Bad day yesterday trying to finish the playmat I am making, Its ready to be quilted, I will be so glad when its finished and I can start on more of the UFO's.
It seems a bit warmer here this morning. I need to phone the council, I am not sure what the electrician did when he linked up the electrics for the heating and blanked off the storage heaters but the solar panels do not seem to be working. Need the leccy man to come and check over.
Elona, take time to rest, you will have to do what I have to do, a small job and then 15 minutes rest. I find thats the best, no longer try to get everything done at once. It takes longer but hey so what!!
Time to go OH is standing at the side of me with his coat on, guess its time to go.0 -
Morning everyone,
Another one who had a rotten night sleep and have only just got up.
My DOH has gone over to DM's bungalow to let in the people who are taking away the bulk of her furniture, I opted out of going as each time I do it seems to get harder and harderhave to go tomorrow to do the final clean and then will hand the keys back on Monday. There was no way that we could keep the majority of the contents but given that the majority of it came from our family home it feels like I am giving away my childhood. Sorry, am very tired and weepy this morning.
Hugs to all, thinking of Elona, take care folks x0 -

Argh just lost my post because I cleared my browsing history to see if that would sort the problem with Hester's blog. It has but then I was directed to the new Forum site. Luckily I managed to get back to the old one.
CBA to write it all again and it was just wittering anyway. My OS moment yesterday was painting some terracotta bowls to put succulents in. I'll plant them up today.0 -
Good morning,
Thank you nmlc for starting the thread.
Lainey (((hugs))) it must be so hard for you, I hope you have the place and space where to take your grief and be supported.
Carlislelass you are in my thoughts and prayers, hope your results are good.
Been up from crazy o'clock to help do breakfast at the homeless shelter, just had breakfast myself now and got Pilates at 11. Could do with going back to sleep, really! At least, it is soup lunch today at the church and I AM NOT COOKING IT! So it will be an easy lunch, just go there and eat, won't even help with the washing up because I have done yesterday night and this morning and I hope that someone else will take that up.
Tonight I have a dinner out with a friend, but I so wish we did not have to do this, I am fed up of eating out, it scuppers my plan for healthy eating every time. I start with all the good intentions and end up scoffing this and that.
I am so fed up and disappointed in myself for having put back the 2 stones I had lost, and it had been so easy! Over two years on low carb, almost completely vegetarian, only a bit of fish (what I consider "edible" fish, no head, no bones, no skin, does not look or taste like fish). Then a combination of stress, bad news, family issues and sheer lack of focus just took me down again. My latest stint, with WW, really showed me that going low fat is not the answer for me, and that sugar and grains are my enemies.
Anyway, today I will do my best to get back into some sort of healthy eating regime.
Have a good day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning all.
Could have been on an hour ago but the electricity went off and knocked out our internet.
Lainey sending you a virtual hug, things do get easier as time moves forward but it still hurts.
Tru I had a new fire surround built by my DH just before Christmas very similar to the one in the photo but not so chunky. The hardest part was to get my ideas across as DH knew better! 1-0 to me though and he even said WE made a good choice when it was finished!
Following on from yesterdays sorting I am going to sort out my crafting stuff today, hopefully without any disembodied voices
Sending good vibrations to all those who are sleep deprived/poorly
Carlislelass Thinking of you today
Hope you have a good day everyoneFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good morning everyone, thanks nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to those who need them.
Overcast here but much, much milder so have the windows open to give the place a good airing.
Just having a cuppa before putting this week's shopping away and then I need to give the place a decent hoover and mop as a friend is coming for lunch tomorrow. No doubt I'll need to snooze for a bit after my labours- a good excuse to avoid walking on the mopped floors though no doubt the pooch will trundle over them......
I really enjoyed my dhal last night and there are two portions left for the freezer so a couple of easy dinners in the future - now I've got my freezer lists they won't disappear into the freezer graveyard . Being very MSE tomight by keeping some of the bacon bits I cooked for lentil soup to have with pasta.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Good Morning...just got in there,
Hugs to anyone who wants or needs one.
Mild here today but wet under foot, hopefully it will stay dry.
Finishing work in a little bit and then off for lunch with grampa, will do us some sandwiches and crisps and he can have a hot dinner with mum later. It is looking like nan will be out of hospital and home tomorrow which will make him so happy! He obviously really misses her.
DD is with her dad this evening so will just make up a quick pasta bake with salad and coleslaw for tea, will then freeze up leftover portins. Just need to pop into morrisons for some salad bits.
Will log on again later and have a good read of the threads.

Morning all,
not been posting as I have hurt my wrist and it takes ages typing with one hand.I was sat on a folding step stool when it collapsed and I ended up on my back on the tiles in the kitchen. It didnt feel that bad on Sat when I did it,but Mon andTues it has been really sore-bit better today.D S went and bought a neoprene wrist support which is helping.
Had a shock on Sunday as my cousin who visited last week was admitted to hospital with a big blood clot on her lung, they say she's very lucky  but has developed a chest infection now and isnt out of the woods yet. We've always been good friends as we are the closest in age of all the cousins, had lots of family hols together when young etc, same career and similar interests etc.Another cousin picked me up on Monday and we went to see her.I had DGS yesterday so didnt go,and today she is going for a scan so will prob go Friday.
Lainey lots of hugs, its a horrible job.
Hester, strange about the blog,I cant see it either, tho did see the boat, its beautiful. We have also talked about doing this, its DH dream so very envious. The time isnt right for us yet though,we need DS to have finished his house renovations and moved out,and prob wait for DGS to start school in a couple of years,as I have him quite a bit.
I've got a beef and chorizo stew in the sc.Cutting carrots one handed was challenging but i managed with my elbow holding it down& luckily found a pack of dried onions.I have an air fryer, not an actifry one,but a cheaper version from the range. They are quite a big appliance but I do quite like it- I think oven chips are nicer in it,and hm wedges.DSon like it for chicken goujons/pieces/sausages etc.I keep looking for 'proper' recipes to use in it :rotfl:
Right off to do a good tidy up after DGs,not sure why as DGD is here later and it will be a waste of time really.Take care all xx
