Do I need to change Land Registry after marriage?

We bought our house last year, and in 2018 we are looking to get married.
Now the house was obviously purchased in my maiden name, after marriage do I need to change my name on the deeds with the Land Registry?
If so would I need a solicitor to do it?

You don't need to change your name when you get married, and even if you do, you don't need to change your name on your title deeds.0

Thank you.
I will be changing my surname, in that case when we want to sell or change mortgage provider is it better to have the title deeds in my new name?
Just don't want any sale to be held up because theres a different surname on the title0 -
the Land Registry prefer that you do inform them of name change upon marriage and imply that it could cause mortgage problems if you don't. Of course in reality a lender should accept your marriage certificate as evidence of why the names are different... but your lender or your purchaser's solicitor may be awkward!

According to this you should.

Change your name
You must send Land Registry an application to change the register when you change your name.
You must also send one of the following:
an official or certified copy of a certificate showing the name change, eg a marriage, civil partnership or gender recognition certificate
a copy of a deed poll
a statement of truth
a statutory declaration - sworn before someone able to take oaths, eg a solicitor0 -

You can continue to use your maiden name for banking, mortgage, employment, passport...... and property.0 -
But of course you you don't have to 'change your name'.

But the OP has already said that she will be changing her name, and updating the LR would seem to be a minor task in order to avoid issues in the future.
PS Gross assumption on my part that the OP is female, if that's not the case please accept my apologies sir!0 -

No idea why it ought to be an issue, there's certainly no encouragement in Scotland to keep the Land Register up to date with your name and everyone just checks the papertrail at the time of the next sale/remortgage.0 -

See post 3.

Thank you all
It doesn't seem too complicated, a couple of forms to complete.
Also need my ID certified by a solicitor and a couple of passport photos (not sure why they need photos, they didn't when we first purchased the house)0 -
Since marrying (and changing my name) I have remortgaged twice and sold the house once. I didn't change my name on anything other than my bank and electoral role and some household bills and it hasn't been an issue.0
