More advice from the "clown ". The meter would have a sticky label on the lower section of the meter. This should give all details when it was installed, along with start reading of the new meter ( not necessarily 00000 ) end read of old meter and date of installation.
The reading on the Secure Liberty electric meter is one press only of button nine, and it would then scroll through the screens. The second screen is the total kwhs since meter was installed. Multiply that by Ovo s tariff and add 5% vat. That would be the total spend on electricity since meter was installed plus daily standing charges.
Cutting anyone off nowadays is super rare, reserved for the most persistent energy thieves only, that would be for 4 times caught meter bypassing. No one gets cut off for debts.
You can switch supplier with this meter and retain the meter if it is put into credit meter mode when other suppliers can use it but they cannot use it in prepayment meter mode.Credit meter mode is preferred as the tariff price can drop around 20% using one year fixed deals with a direct debit arrangement. Ovo s fixed one year deals in credit mode would be much cheaper than their prepayment meter tariff by the way. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
