Is it my imagination or have FB comps run wild

I choose not to enter FB competitions as I do not want to bombard my friends with spam posts. I don't do twitter comps for the same reason. Is it just me, or have these, particularly FB, just started to overrun the forum's comps? I endorse social media quite happily, but with the proliferation of those comps on here, in union with gleam, instal and RC, I seem to only have the ability to enter 1 in every 10 comps at best.

Yes I agree and of all the social media comps FB is the one I most dislike as most of the time they do not private message you to say that you have won. I have lost a prize before because I missed my name being mentioned.

same here. I only enter about 1 in 10 FB comps posted on here but that's because most of them are garbage!

I won a 3 day short break on Facebook a couple of weeks ago worth £850 and before that I won a watch worth £1,200. I think you have to pick carefully and I also think the Facebook app comps might be a little fairer in terms of fairness for all entrants.
I appreciate all the listings on here whatever form they take..

If an app is used fairly it takes less effort to make a random selection but if the comp is dodgy in the first place then the "dodgyness" is easier as well.
If it's like/comment etc and they publicly announce a winner anyone who wants can check the winner out and see if looks dodgy, with an app they can announce any name they like as winner, doesn't need to be someone who entered or even a real person.

I really think you lot should think twice about entering for those tea-bags. I have a pet head-louse to feed and things aint been easy for the two of us. He was one of a pair but I heartlessly combed his mate out of existence and now not only do I have the pain of loneliness to deal with but the guilt is killing me. The funeral is on Wednesday and we really could do with some mugs of tea to help all the distressed mourners get through what will surely be a trying time. :(:(:(:(:(:(
