    I know what you mean Yorkshirelass. People only post all the good stuff and what you want to see on Facebook. But it really hit home how lucky I am when I was out in India. I saw a little boy living on the streets and he was naked. Heart breaking.

    Luckypenny that must have been heartbreaking! I really want to go to India but I know I will find the poverty difficult and seeing vulnerable children like that could scar me for life!

    The Facebook thing is totally the highlights of peoples lives so I just celebrate the things shared in the knowledge that some are also facing hard times and this their way of dealing with it. There is something about negative things that are really too personal to share on such a platform and best kept for over a coffee with close friends. Still it is nice to see the highlights especially of people I rarely or never get to see anymore :)

    Ok LuckyPenny, I will do an online enquiry and hide behind the screen. I guess every little helps!

    BTW the other night I had dreams about YS groceries...blaming you lot! Ha! Night all!

    Morning. I've been awake since 4.30 :eek: I do not like this recent development that when I'm ill I wake up in the middle of the night!

    ally good luck with your interview! Will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed x

    foxgloves that's impressive you've lost 12lbs since Dec!

    Today is oh's birthday and in true dfw sytle I haven't got him a card (we don't like them) and I haven't wrapped his presents (can't see the point!) :rotfl: I have got steak for tea and madam and I are making him a red velvet cake today :)

    Have to take madam for a shot today and she has been grumbling about it since yesterday. She remembered from a week ago it was today and started saying yesterday she doesn't want to go! Actually now I think about it she might not be able to have it because of the virus she has, but will have to go as it is at 8.30 and they won't be answering the phones before then...

    have read Martin's email - think I will purchase the flower bulbs. today if the weather is permitting I am going to spend an hour sorting out our front garden as when I drove in yesterday it hit me how terrible it looks!

    Happy hump day guys x

    I literally did nothing on my list from yesterday! So still need to do those things

    Things for today:

    * [STRIKE]check banks[/STRIKE]
    * some masters prep
    * [STRIKE]hang out washing[/STRIKE] need to get it in shortly. weatherforecast said it's going to rain at 3 and it's definitely looking that way!
    *[STRIKE] oh taking los for lunch[/STRIKE]
    * pick up bits needed for making oh's birthday cake for tomorrow while I'm out and also some card so madam and I can get crafty
    * 10 minute meditation
    * return car seat
    * paint some sealant over a water stain in our kitchen
    * list some bits on fleabay
    * clean out fridge

  • Morning :hello: hope you're felling better soon determined and that your DGD is ok too.

    Foxgloves impressive weight loss indeed :D have you been calorie counting?

    Ally go get 'em :D

    Enjoying 5 minutes with a cuppa before everyone else wakes (well 2nd time for some of them as we have both small visitors during the night ;)) both now back asleep but one was taking up rather too much of my bed and as I was awake I thought I'd get up and on with the day.

    Last of clothes on radiators whilst they're cooling off in the next hour. Will be lovey to have the airer down, even for just a day :rotfl:
    Left over veggie goulash to work for lunch, plus slice of hm date cake and some fruit
    Baked oats using some fruit on its way out for breakfast
    Hot drink for commute
    Checked banking, moved some money and updated my sheets
    Found DH card yesterday so he was bale to activate his account. It was down the side of the settee:eek:
    DH to apply for a new job tonight, maybe two. We'll see.
    Put some cauliflower rice in freezer I won't be using before we go away
    Tea from stores/planner
    Write two things back on the shopping list that were annoyingly oos last night when I went
    Freeze some ys items I got last night (more bagels)
    Smalls to have ys pain au chocolate for breakfast as a treat
    Diarise renewal date for a subscription, I called them yesterday and they gave me a breakdown of several elements of my package and decided what we are going to cancel when it's up
    Talk to my (expert) colleague at work about the pension portal that's giving odd answers.

    Right, enjoy your day folks. It's Closer to the weekend than yesterday ;) purps.

    Hi gang,

    Ally – good luck today!
    Ziggy – hope all is going well with you xx
    DNMS – bless your dgd – hope she gets on ok today at the docs.

    Hi to everyone else :wave:

    Here’s me:
    :) Dry shampoo is my friend today :cool:
    :) Used freebie products – moisturiser, make up, facewash
    :) Cheapo porridge brekkie with free milk :A
    :) OH took brekkie too :T
    :) OH took lunch but it was a £3 ready meal from Ts! Kinda defeats the point :rotfl:
    :) I didn’t take lunch today so can’t moan :rotfl:
    :) Night in tonight – the housework marathon continues!
    :) I got £100 cashback paid yesterday so that’s gone to OH’s bday pressie/house pressie/something I can also use ;)
    :) Used survey money to pay admin fee (£4) for ‘free’ see film first tickets for the theatre on Friday :T (but the transaction is showing as ‘pending’ on pay pal so I don’t actually have my tickets yet :mad: - won’t be best pleased if they sell out before I get my tickets!!)
    :) Disputed a cashback transaction that they declined even though I have their car insurance :mad:
    :) Started filling a charity bag – work give matching donations on each bag collected :cool:

    Big love!

    Good Morning All

    Ally - Good Luck for your interview
    DNMS - Hope DGD is ok at Dr's

    Feeling tired and a little flat today, I think even though I feel calm and in control it's obviously playing on my subconscious (plus it's that time of year - 3 years since my heart attack) . Today's little list

    Packed lunch for DH & DS - Done
    Check Bank - Done
    Hospital for me - What a waste of NHS resources, sat in a room for 10 mins, Surgeon arrived and told me he's going to refer me to a dermatologist so could go home and wait for an appointment - Don't get me wrong it's great news but a phone call would have been just as good
    Continue purge on emails - Done a few
    Surveys -
    Enter a few comps - Done a few
    Check: Lucky Phone, Ashleigh, Numberplatelotto, FPL - Done
    Read -

    Have a great day all!

    she was not happy! she did it but really cried. Back home with a hot chocolate and she's fine now

    Morning all :)
    Good luck Ally, thinking of you :T
    DNMS, hope the jab situation goes ok :( I wish there was an alternative for babies and little children.
    Just waiting for DD to turn up with little GD, later than usual because it is half term. DD has to spend the day prepping for teaching observations next week though, so I said I would still look after her. Well, it is much warmer today, and I quite enjoyed not having freezing nose / fingers etc during the early morning dog walk, though I see it is raining now :(

    Looking forward to getting out in the garden, but doesn't look like it will happen today. Little miniature daffodils are coming out in the front garden which made me smile :) I must show GD when she arrives, as she helped plant them :)

    Anyway, today's less than riveting list:
    Quick tidy round, recycling out etc :)
    Put away airer and washing basket as I am up to date with washing :D I want to do the lounge curtains, but not today as it is raining.
    Dog walks x 2
    Close my ebay shop subscription, as I am not selling enough to warrant it atm - cheaper to pay as I go!
    Used up left over mashed potato to make a few fish cakes for lunch (with a tin of on offer tuna and some seasoning). I didn't put in capers or parsley as I usually do, because I want GD to eat one, and she would baulk at the green bits :rotfl:
    Use up camembert and YS bacon in bacon, tomato and cheese pasta for tonight :)
    Entertain GD
    Check the bank that I didn't do the other day
    Check for surveys
    RM surveys tasks
    Probably bake something with GD
    Not planning to spend anything - though GD will probably want to go to the corner shop and buy a chocolate frog :rotfl:

    Hope you all have a productive day :)
