Morning all,
Hope you all had a nice weekend.
Mine was nice. Relaxed on Saturday followed by work on Sunday, although I use the term work loosely. Diet went well all week so I rewarded myself with a bit of cheesecake and my God it was so good.
Been to the gym this morning and I've got badminton tonight. I'll swing by my grans on the way home as it's her birthday today so I'll bring in a nice card and some flowers.
Dumpling - Well done!0 -
Good morning everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone who needs or wants one
Weather forecast is for it to be dry, sunny and a tad warmer however so far it's bitterly cold, blowy and overcastPlan to take my wheels out for an airing this morning so will make sure I'm well wrapped up.
My son ended up getting a tooth extracted yesterday morning as an x-ray showed he had shattered the root (on a piece of dried chilli of all things!) why they couldn't have done that on Saturday and saved him all that pain I don't know....
Wee bit of excitment at bed time last night when the battery on the upstairs smoke alarm decided it needed replacing so was chiping every few minutes. Although I'm downstair I knew I couldn't put up with it overnight.:( Thankfully managed to manhandle myself upstairs and could reach the alarm, battery replaced then managed to get back downstair via a combination of bannister hugging and bottom shuffling....of course after that I was wide awake so it took ages to get over so tired this morning.
Leftovers for lunch today and a lamb chop tonight so simplecooking today. I need to sort out some paperwork and give my bedroom a tidy but apart from that an easy day.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Bright sunny morning, blue sky, not too cold. Bed linen in the washer, I will hang it out and then wash the towels.
Monday clean to do. Yesterday I got round to filling in the attendance allowance forms, my god the info they needs, inside leg measurements etc. Will just have to wait for the letter to say they have turned me down and I will scream. It took me all afternoon to fill the damn thing in. OH is going to walk down to the PO and post it recorded delivery.
I love Hesters narrow boat, I hope they have a wonderful time, after all they have been through they deserve a really restful retirement.
Beef stew and dumplings tonight for supper, rhuarb sponge for dessert.0 -
Hester It looks lovely. Will be a heck of a change though. Good luck.
Gers I couldn't watch the end of the Rugby in the end. Painful. Hope the postie brings your NCIS provider (I'm an addict too) Blowing a hoooly here too. Running club could be interesting.
Speky You had a much better week than me. 5lb gained. But back o the gym this morning and all my food prepped to give me a better run this week.

Congratulations Hester sounds like an great new adventure for you and the L&M
Not much has been achieved this weekend as we had friends over and DH thought it would be a good idea to drink rum que yesterday feeling unwell with a headache and very delicate:rotfl:
Will be taking mum for a dressing change and i need to go shopping maybe tomorrow;)
Gammon steaks tonight we are eating through the freezer as i am fed up with spending every week when we have food in the house
Right onwards and upwards have a great day whatever you are up to0 -
Lots going on today. Good luck Hester, I hope the survey is fine, you deserve something to go your way.
Dumpling well done, keep plugging away - been there with the diet books, it's so annoying isn't it.
Caronc, I am in awe of you managing to change the battery, I find it hard and I am (supposedly) able bodied. I get very dizzy if I look upwards for more than a couple of seconds.
Caterina, enjoy Bletchley, waving from 30 minutes away in Bedfordshire.
Tru, I feel your pain.
I know I will have forgotten someone, rest assured it's not intentional.
We're just back from Yorkshire where we had a lovely weekend with friends. It's been ages since we've managed a weekend together so it was lovely to catch up.
DD and Sil are still suffering trying to get their house finished. The kitchen worktop is finished but they found a leak from the Quooker because it wasn't finished properly. Worse, there is a leak from one of the bathrooms which is coming through the ceiling. The suspect is the waste from the bath and DD was in a panic because the floor is fully tiled. DH told her to tell the builders to go through the ceiling below because that will need to be replaced anyway. She's thoroughly fed up and I don't blame her.
I need to get on, I have my weekly visit to Lidl to get done this morning. I spent a bit too much on groceries in Yorkshire because of the visitors and we ate out one evening, but it was lovely.0 -

) the hardest bit was getting back down the stairs but I was determined I wasn't going to listen to it all night so mind over matter ruled the day....:D

Morning all
Lamewolf It seems you are very much missed here and maybe sharing your woes will help lift your mood. I am sorry things are so tough for you atm and I feel your pain. Hope you feel up to posting again soon.
Dumpling Well done on the weight loss and great idea re your DD's and a food budget. Let us know how they get on.
No news here. Yesterday I just did a swim/gym trip then stagnated on the sofa. Off to work soon and as usual I CBA but needs must.
Thinking a day off may be in order soon. I have a lot of things I need to do but all a long bus ride away and I don't like going on a Saturday when it's busy...I'll ponder that one today.
Take care all.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Dumpling well done on weight loss. Is the book worth getting for a vegetarian?
.
It has quite a lot of vegetarian recipes in it. The main principle seems to be healthy food, some protein and lots of veg, very little carbs. I would suggest having a flick through in a bookshop to see if you would like it. I bought mine from Amazon as it was the cheapest place.0 -
Morning all,
Had a lovely lay in till 9.30 it was complete bliss, I have since put a load of dd's washing on the go and folded another lot which was in the td. I need to have a quick clean through the kitchen and sweep the wooden floors, that will do for today !
Then I am off to meet my friend (old manager) for coffee / lunch / shopping I am very much looking forward to it and we sit and put the world to rights between us !
Pie and mash for dinner tonight will need to pop in the local shop and get another veg to go with it, I have some peas but seem to have run out of other veg.
Hester I love your new abode, I am very envious of you but you deserve it, hope the survey goes well xx
Lamewolf Little Evie sends puppy kisses and asks would you like half of a smacko ? not a whole one mind as they are her favorite but she is happy to share xx
Have good days all xx0
