    Thanks, Coupon-mad
  • So I am new to this site but frustrated by the actions of these companies.

I got a PCN in a railway car park as a failure of the cashless connect system in December. I was in my wifes car so tried to deal with it in normal correspondence through the web based customer service. I was still waiting for a response when my wife received a letter from the debt recovery service in January. I did not discuss with the wife but tried to deal through email and later on the phone with the debt recovery service, sending emails to all parties involved in the car park connect cashless, indigo the debt recovery and POPLA. PoPla couldn't help as i was out of time and the PCN issuer would not give me a code.

My wife has now received a charge letter for 170 pounds to settle the debt and warned of an additional 36 pounds added when passed to the solicitor. If they have already made contact with me as the driver why are they now corresponding with my wife. It appears they have been doing nothing to help, to simply up the cost. Is it right that my wife can declare me as the driver on the day and get the PCN reset?

Yes that discharges any potential liability as long as she states your name and address for service. If it is only APCOA or NCP though, this is really something to ignore as she missed POPLA, just relax.

  • Thanks for your response. I have been on holiday and my wife has just received a solicitors letter stating: Failure to make payment in full or contact us to discuss repayment of this debt may result in us recommending to the car park operator that the matter be enforced through criminal court proceedings. Such proceedings would require your attendance at magistrates court. Outstanding balance is now £206.

Yours is Indigo, this thread isn't about them. So let's leave it for dtwooduk to update if needed.

... may result in us recommending to the car park operator that the matter be enforced through criminal court proceedings.

    Is this new?

An empty threat surely. If their client acts on their advice and advises the TOC to prosecute, then neither the solicitor , the PPC, nor the TOC will get a penny.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    Ok, so it's got worse.

Basically got a red letter from Debt Recovery Plus stating they were chasing me for the payment from APCOA. They want (an astonishing) £150 or court proceedings.

Really need some help here if anyone can?

    Thanks!

ok , ticket on jan 5th , that is 147 days ago , as previously stated only the TOC could bring charges , and within 6 mths (180 days)

ping pong with them by royal mail is called for , dont let DR+ pass it back yet

I would think that the time span needed to pass 180 days could easily be surpassed

How is that worse, it's normal. Get a grip. It's only DRPlus, for the love of God!

Really, stop taking this so seriously, we've ignored DRPlus letters for a decade on here, and on all parking forums.

Surely you Googled them and found that out, they are a joke? We laugh at them, have laughed at them for ten years, and here you are, not Googling, not checking them out, just reading their trash and thinking it's got serious just because you have the same template threatogram as we all laugh at.

You could have found 'your letter' a hundred times over as posted by other people laughing at them, on Google Images in ten seconds, by searching for a daft phrase from the 'letter'. Try it.

Relax. Utter waste of space company, get wise. No, they don't come knocking. No, they cant start court claims.

Ok, umm, thanks for that (I think).

Can't say that I find that forum post you link to that clear on what to do next if I'm being honest.

Understand that you must get these questions a lot (in which case to be honest why bother answering?) but there are people out there (like myself) who've never got involved with DRPlus.

That being said, I will (try) and check the thread you've linked me to.

    Thanks!
