Any one know where and when i can get an ipod touch
I've got mine on pre order at https://www.apple.com/uk you can also pre order at https://www.amazon.co.uk (don't forget you can also get enectar points and discounts from quidco as well). If you go via apple it will probably arrive quicker than amazon. the amazon waiting time is currently 4-6 weeks. however, those ordered via apple in the states are already shipping out and, having ordered mine 2 days ago at apple, it is currently being built and predicted to arrive next week. you can also get it engraved, FOC, at apple.
However, contrary to popular belief, the ipod touch is not an iphone minus the phone. It's more like an ipod with a touch screen plus wi-fi internet. It lacks many of the iphone features such as google maps, email and advanced contact details. The die hard mac community has slated it for this. There are reviews such as these:

having said that, I was playing with a display model in an apple store and found it incredibly addictive and fun, hence pre ordering one. In reality, you can always use webmail etc and it avoids paying a £35-£55/month O2 subscription that is actually very poor value for the minutes etc that you get
