You need to place this into dispute with your card provider. NOW. So they bounce the payment.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@OP - you haven't responded to ny questions in my post #10, the answers to which are far more important to you case than who is your mate (or not).
Your answers will give us (and you) an indication of whether you will be appearing in court in a few months time!
PS - your baby's still safe. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Even though the card is cancelled, as you have already allowed them to take a payment they may still be able to take other payments using your old card details
Its something called continuous payment authority read about it here
Phone your bank and cancel the continuous payment authority as suggested by others.0 -
Casement1992 please stop and take a breath the regulars on here know what they are doing and Beamerguy is a nice chap, like me he has an aversion to being called mate, not worth harping on about.
You have been conned to set this up by expert manipulators who only want your cash, the fact is they cannot do anything and only make threats but add on any old fee they can get away with just to make money.
You must contact your card provider and cancel this recurring charge, as whether you understand the process or not they will take the next payment unless you put a stop to it.
I assume as the card has a sort code and account number on it, it's a debit card, as well as a visa or mastercard, it makes no difference you authorised the payment and it will continue.0 -
@casement1992 - you must listen to people on here, they help people in your situation and worse each day. For example,C-M is an absolute expert in this field and regularly helps normal people beat the unfair Parking Charges either at the appeal stage or in the small claims court (just ask people like Gin & Milk, StuartHamilton or Hopsfield to name three out of hundreds)
You came here for help right? If so, first we have to establish the facts, give you the correct advice and then you have to act on it and let us know how it went. So:
1) What did you pay with a DEBIT card or a CREDIT card?
You mention sort code and account number so I am presuming you paid with your DEBIT card (e.g. your normal bank card you withdraw money from via an ATM)
2) You say you have cancelled this card
However the concern here from everyone is that if this is a DEBIT card, just because you have changed the card it doesn't mean the payment will not go through or won't continue to go through. Same for a CREDIT card. So to be absolutely safe what you need to do is phone the Bank or CC company and dispute any charge that has gone through and ensure they cancel any further charges made by DRP
If you can answer these questions and then let us know you have done the actions in Step 2 then we can help you further once we know if any payment has gone through or not.
And nobody is going to come and take your TV, baby buggy or any other goods. The only way that can happen is if you a) go to court b) lose in court and c) then refuse to pay.0 -

Nobody can come to your house and take stuff from you unless you have been to court, lost, not paid, the claimant has made an order of costs against you, and you still haven't paid. None of that has happened.
Debt collectors have no powers whatsoever. They cannot come to your house, that would be illegal. They cannot take your stuff, that would be illegal. They cannot take you to court. (They would actually get nothing if it went to court.)
The ONLY thing they are allowed to do is send you poor quality bog paper.
You MUST cancel the card payments. You MUST tell your card issuer that the payments were made under duress and you were coerced. The debt collectors probably lied to you as well. You MUST tell your bank the same thing. You MUST stop all current and future payments.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Don't apologise and don't worry about it. You also have no reason to be scared. The card I pay off is a debit card and I haven't yet cancelled any upcoming payments off them and sorry for the agrivation in my posts I was worried and scared and I need to be assured that they won't come to my house and take anything off me.

Now we have established the facts, you must now act as the experts here have advised you to. Why would you not? You came here for advice and help and you are now getting it. You are in good hands.
If you do not want to pay this Debt Recovery firm then you should take the action that FruitCake above has suggested and then fight this parking charge in due course via the normal way that countless people on here do and subsequently win.
At no point will anyone come to your house and take any of your belongings unless, a) you get taken to the small claims court, b) a judge decides that you lose AND then c) you still refuse to pay at that point!0 -
Everything about recurring payments is here. Tell your bank they must cancel it. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/recurring-payments0
