  • Really cannot find any reference that India is in the Safe Harbour Scheme.
Everything implies that this is an EU/US thing
Can you point me to a site that states this?
Thinking back (it was over 18 months ago), it may not have been the load of bollox that is "Safe Harbour", but the EU does still consider India a safe place for data protection purposes.

"The US is not deemed adequate but personal data sent under the Safe Harbor scheme is considered to be adequately protected. India is not deemed to offer adequate protection."

I too had to suffer reading the DPA and to look into this during an IT consultation project that we did a few years ago.

    Here's the latest one.

Asked me if I was this person. I didn't tell him. I just pressed the red button.
Two thoughts - I hope that is not the same red button as Donald Trump has?

More usefully - if you get a lot these calls - get yourself a phone with call minder built in. Perhaps £25. It is easy to use and very few of these scammers will then bother you. Everyone legitimate will say who they are and you can decide to take their calls.
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.
  • We find that the sxcammers hang up immediately the answerphone is detected.
