Previous House Owner not Changing address -Credit File issues

Options
Hi All,
I have a problem in that I purchased my present house 2 years back and yet keep getting letters from Inland Revenue with the details of tax to be paid and other letters from Creditors including mobile phone companies and loans which were taken out by the previous resident.
I am getting concerned that these will have an effect on my Credit Score as the address is what the Credit Agencies use.

I dont have any contact details of the seller of the house and when I contacted the Estate Agent, was told that they will not pass it on due to Data Protection. In any cause even if I had the details is there anything I could do?

However not having their contact details makes it more difficult and I was wondering what my options are??

Somebody's else's debts can not effect you unless you are financially associated to them. In this case you are not financially associated to this person so it will not cause you any issues.

As above - mark them as "no longer at this address" and stick them back in the nearest post box.

They will not have any effect on your credit file as your credit file is not linked to anyone elses through address, but through joint financial product only. There is no such thing as a black listed address despite old wives tales :)

If you see anything on your file linked to the previous owner then simply request this be removed through the relevant process with the credit agency concerned.

For the tax letters I would possibly make the effort to call them and explain the previous owner moved x years ago.

    This should never ever happen.
