Ethical funds for Junior ISA

We want to start putting away some money for our two children (age 6 and 1) and having researched the pros and cons have decided we are happy to use a stocks and shares JISA for this.
I have a lump sum of £1k for my oldest to invest and we plan to put away £100/month in each of their accounts. We may top my oldest daughter's up from time to time as she's playing catch up a bit with my youngest who has an extra 5 years until she can access it.
I've already set up a JISA for each with Hargreaves Lansdowne though I've not yet paid anything in. I was wondering if I should have chosen a cheaper platform - I was attracted to HL as I've heard their platform and app is very good and had intended to set up my own SIPP with them, but I'm reading in a few places that Charles Stanley Direct is the best bet for a JISA due to it having only a 0.25% charge (vs 0.45% for HL). Is there anything else I'm missing when comparing them? Should I stick with HL or go to CSD instead (its not too late to cancel the JISA with HL).
Finally, in terms of what funds to invest in, after doing some research I had all be set to simply use the savings to buy Vanguard LifeStrategy 80 or even 100 and just forget about it however neither my wife or I are comfortable with investing our children's money in some of the sectors they have holdings in.
Which means I need to look at more ethical funds that exclude some of these industries. I realise this limits our options somewhat. Has anyone got a JISA with investments in ethical funds? There was a couple I had in mind and wondered what people thought. How do you go about researching this kind of thing?
One of the funds whose name I see mentioned a lot is Kanes Ethical Equity:

Anything else worth considering?
