current account with 2 debit cards?

I am separating from my partner and to keep things fair we have decided to each put a certain amount of money into a pot to use for the children. We need a cash flow (school trips etc) so cannot use a credit card.
Is it possible to find a bank account (preferably not joint as we do not wish to be linked financially) that can have 2 cards so that we can individually dip into the account when the children are with us?
Thanks for your help!

You are looking for a current account for two people, but do not wish for those people to show as linked financially. Essentially a joint account which does not appear to be joint on credit records.
Such a thing doesn't exist.
There are basic current accounts which do not appear on credit reports, but I doubt any of them offer joint functionality.0 -
There are prepaid cards that offer extra cards for one account.
Pockit one is free to load and to use for purchases, but charges £1 for ATMs.
As a result, I don't think that it's much better than a credit card (with two cardholders) linked by a DD to a sole current account.0 -
You could both open a sole account (say a Tesco current account) which you each keep as "spending for the children" account.
You both agree that you will credit this particular account with a certain amount each month.
When each of you are out with the children you draw on that account.0 -

In fairness that's not really much of a solution. It doesn't work in much of a different way to just not having an additional account at all and promising to spend X amount on the kids.urs sinserly,

You could open a current account and add your ex-partner as a third party (NatWest will definitely do this).
That way you both have access to the account, each with your own card and no financial association.
Be careful though, as if your ex-partner runs up a debt on the account (unauthorised overdraft for example) then you will be responsible, not them. It would be your account which you have just allowed them unconditional access to.0 -

Be careful of Natwest......

It seemed to me to create a method of "setting aside" accounts to be used for the purpose of spending on the children and nothing else.0 -

But that thread refers to a joint account, which has been ruled out in this thread, so is therefore of little relevance.0 -
