Hi, I have just tried to open a current account with Tesco bank and as I have an instant access account and an internet saver it won't let me as I have two already. What I'm wondering is if these two accounts I do have are the ones that now give 3% please. If so I can just add more money to them. Thanks.

Only the current account pays 3%, not the savings accounts.
Unless you alreday have a Tesco current account (or an old Tesco Clubcard Bank account) you should be able to open two new Tesco current accounts (regardless of any savings accounts), so if the system is preventing you there's either an error or you're applying for the wrong account!
If all else fails ring them up.0 -
I had the same experience as you in 2015, and I tried again and it still says the same thing.
The only solution is to phone them, or in my case, just leave it and be satisfied with one current account.0 -
The instant access and internet saver you already have, pay a low interest rate (below 1% depending on bonuses) - you can check online by clicking "manage account" and the relevant interest rate will show. Did you try to open a current account after "logging in"? If they refused you this way, try opening an account without "logging in" first. You should be able to open 2 current accounts as well as having the instant access and internet saver accounts. Phone them if there is still a problem. I have 2 current accounts, 2 internet savers and 2 instant access accounts.
Once you have the 2 current accounts open, depending on your amount of savings, make sure you have the maximum (£3000 in each them) . It is easy to do a online transfer from your savings accounts to your current accounts if you are funding them this way. I keep less than £10 each in my 4 savings accounts because there are better rates elsewhere.0 -

I would be satisfied with the one current account at the moment and that's why I'm asking if the one I have is one that gives 3%0 -

Thank you I will try it without being logged in and see how I go .0 -

Just a shot in the dark:p
When you applied, did you answer 'Yes' to the 2nd question under 'Make sure you're eligible'?

I have just applied for one of these and been accepted.
To get the second current account, do I just start a new application or will it be linked to the account I have just opened?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

It's so annoying. I tried again when I answered no that was it, when I answered yes I got as far as giving my name etc then it comes up with sorry you already have two current accounts with us and that was it.
So I phoned up,I hate wasting money on phone calls to banks listening to music and not getting anywhere fast. If I had free minutes fair enough but I don't so after waiting a while I stopped it. Why can t these places have an email you can email with your problem. :mad:0 -

Wait until the first account is opened.
Then log in and you will see a box down the right hand side for opening another account
click on open current acoount.
Some information will already be filled in on the application form, taken from your first application.0 -

That is odd and sounds like a glitch (technical term;))
Understandably, they are busy but their phone lines are open 24/7. Maybe try again later this evening?0
