There may not be a solution as convenient as Revolut for the OP, who seems to be in the fortunate situation of having euros to buy GBP with. Although N26 may be a possibility.Use a forex free card or buy Sterling Amazon gift cards.
Revolut gives the straight interbank rate, updated every half second, except on weekends when markets are closed and it adds a small spread.
Prices on Amazon and such are often lower on their foreign sites, such as Germany or US, perhaps the opposite is sometimes true.
As a long time user of Revolut myself, I'd like to hear any further clarification of the issue here. When Revolut is used in US restaurants, for example, and they pre-authorise an amount before charging the actual bill, the pre-auth later drops off as normal without any problem.Evolution, not revolution0
