In the MSE weekly email received today it states that a couple can open 4 a/cs.
I don't quite see how you can do this (one joint and 2 sole accounts equals 3).Can a wise adviser out there help me to see the light ?

Im not a brain surgeon !,:( but i have 2 and the wife has 2 which equals 4 in total, i hope this helps.:)0 -
Thanks...so are you counting the jt a/c as 2 accounts (thereby making 4 if you include the 2 individual sole accounts), also is the savings limit £3k on a joint ?0

You can each have two sole accounts or one sole each and one jointI know I and my wife can have two current accounts each but can we have a joint Account as well?
This would not be possible @xxx as you can only hold 2 current accounts with Tesco Bank.0 -
Wait a minute, dos'nt tesco already do the 2 bank accounts with 3% rate sure I saw it on here mentioned a few times?0
-
I recently opened a joint account.
I then opened an account in my sole name.
However, when I tried to open a sole account for my wife the online application stopped.
I rang CS and I was told that 2 was the limit.
Can I open more, would like to.0 -
This confused me too, since I already have 2 accounts at 3% since early 2014. Trying to apply you get a question do you already have any current accounts with Tesco and if the answer is yes you are exited from the application process.
Do you need to close existing accounts to open these new ones, with the difference you don't need to feed them with £750 each month? If so its not worth it since I swap the 750 between them on the same day with no loss of interest? So maybe it is just aimed at people who want the clubcard points?0 -

Can me and my wife have an account each AND a joint account?
That's absolutely fine, you can both do that :-)0 -

I can't see this mentioned - the headline is '3% interest on balances up to £3,000 guaranteed from 01/04/17 to 01/04/19.' but does anyone know if any interest is paid prior to 1st April ?
IE is it best to open this with £5 and then move the £3000 in on 1.4.17 ?0 -
From the wording, it looks like the interest is from now but you don't get club card points until April.
I'm wondering if my Tesco accounts will be switched to this automatically as they seem identical apart from the club card points.0
